2016 Calendar

2016CalCover-1

Now that Christmas has come and gone, we can unveil the cover to this year’s calendar gift, given annually to my mom and sister, made up of pictures I have taken throughout the year. Once again. this year’s calendar was produced by the good folks at Shutterfly. As in year’s past, we will unveil each month’s photo on the first day of the month throughout 2015.

This year’s cover is made up of 12 pictures, each featuring some combination of Angelina, Danny, and Michael.  We start with the shot above of all 3 riding a camel at the Memphis Zoo from our Elvis trip back in May.

2016CalCover-10Continuing counter clockwise is another shot of all 3 standing in front of the famous ivy on the outfield wall at Wrigley Field from the Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day conducted by the Cubs this summer.

Fitbit Week 44

Week44_FBA nice bounce back week after the disappointment of Thanksgiving week.  Things got off to a good start on Sunday, the last day of my Thanksgiving vacation.  Monday was time to return to work and lead to a string of good days, save Wednesday, as has become the custom.  Wednesday turned out to be the one disappointing day of the week, failing to reach the 5500 step mark.  Friday started another long weekend, one where I was left alone with Danny while everyone else was off at skating and swimming events.

Fitbit Week 40

Week40_FBThe week got off to a disappointing start, as birthday celebrations for me, Angelina, and Danny meant falling under my daily goal on Sunday.  Things picked up was the work week started, and the temperatures jumped up to an unseasonably warm 70 degrees.  The big day of the week was Saturday, as Danny, Michael, and I headed down to West Lafayette for Purdue’s homecoming, where they embarrassed themselves against Illinois.  Thankfully, the travels across campus did not result in an embarrassing step total for me, garnering my only 10,000 step day of the week.

Early last week, I passed the 2 million step mark for the year, well ahead of my goal.  If I were to not take another step for the next 12 weeks, I would still average more than my daily goal for the year.  This is the first time I’ve managed to surpass one of these goals that I’ve set for myself, so yay me.

Week33_FBThe week after vacation is always disappointing, and this was no different, as I put up my lowest total the middle of June.  Things got off to a decent start on Sunday with a trip to US Cellular Field, followed by a trip out for dinner.  The work week was decent, if unspectacular.  No day particularly stands out.  Saturday was the bummer of the week, as I failed to crack 5000 steps, thanks to Danny and Michael being over all day.

Fitbit Week 27

Week27_FBAnother pretty good week, as my streak of days surpassing my daily goal of 5500 steps reached 49 days and, after a week off, I managed to surpass 10,000 steps during the week.  Things got off to a slowish start on Sunday, where a trip to US Cellular Field was barely able to push me past my goal.  Monday got the work week off to a decent start, followed by Tuesday’s 10,000 step day, thanks to after-work activities with Danny and Michael.

Wednesday consisted of 2 trips over to North Plaza, which made for an impressive total.  Thursday was the ISG picnic, which made for some extra steps.  Friday again had some after work activities, again with Danny and Michael.  Saturday was a day without baseball, yet managed to again barley pass my daily goal.

Daily average: 7501.7

Fitbit Week 21

Week21_FBDespite a disappointing start to the week, things picked up and I ended up with my most productive week since heading to San Diego last spring.  Sunday was Father’s Day, and despite a morning trip out for breakfast, a trip to US Cellular Field with Danny, and a post-game trip out for Father’s Day activities, I failed to make it to the 5500 step mark.  Things bounced back during the work week, as each day was over 6000 steps, in most cases well above.  The highlight of the week was Friday, despite horrific traffic that saw me spend well over 4 hours in the car to get home, with a stop at US Cellular Field for Grinder Bash.  I managed over 13,000 steps, my 14th best total ever recorded.  Saturday was Family Day at Wrigley Field, which helped boost the week’s total.
