Fitbit 6: Week 27

Well, that’s more like it.  Week 20 of working from home due to the corona virus was my 5th consecutive week of increase and my first time surpassing my weekly goal in nearly a year, when I racked up 55,256 steps last August.  It also brought in my highest total since last August’s second week in San Francisco, when I scored 73,708 steps and the first time I met my goal every day of the week since last June’s trip to DC.  Things got off to a good start on Sunday, where a trip to Mariano’s helped me finish the day 20 steps shy of 8000.  Monday was the low point of the week, finishing just 91 steps over goal.  Tuesday came in 4 steps short of 7900.  Wednesday was in the same ballpark, coming in just over 7700 steps.  Thursday was the high point of the week, using an afternoon walk to finish with over 9400 steps.  Friday came in at 7600 steps, while Saturday managed to get up over 7700 again.

Week 19 of working from home due to the corona virus was again still below my weekly goal, but, following up from last week, is again much more in line with what I would put up while going to work.  For the second straight week, I posted my best numbers since November.  The week got off to a slower start on Sunday, finishing with only 4300 steps.  Monday saw a marked improvement, coming in over 7100 steps.  Tuesday saw a slight downgrade due to meetings, coming in at 5100 steps.  Things picked up on Wednesday, surpassing my daily goal for the first time this week with 7600 steps.  Thursday I managed my first 10,000 step day since April, finishing with 10,100 steps thanks to an afternoon walk around the Lockport Park District while waiting for Michael to finish swim practice.  Friday was another successful day, coming in over 8300 steps and giving me 3 straight days over goal for the first time since the end of January.  I was in position to try to meet my weekly goal on Saturday, but I fell off again, finishing with only 4800 steps.

Now that’s more like it.  Week 18 of working from home due to the corona virus was still below my weekly goal, but is much more inline with what I would put up while going to work and was my best week since November.  The week got off to a nice start on Sunday, finishing over 7600 steps thanks to a trip to the grocery store.  Monday was even better, coming in over 8100 steps, the first time I had back-to-back days over goal since April 6th and 7th.  Tuesday saw a slight downgrade, coming in at exactly 5700 steps.  Wednesday was the low point of the week, where meetings forced me into finishing 14 steps away from 3900.  Thursday bounced back well, back up to 8600 steps, the week’s high point and giving me my first week with 3 days over goal since my last week of going to work in mid-March.  Friday fell back down again to 6300 steps.  Saturday should have been my fourth day over goal for the week, but falling asleep early left me with 7100 steps.

Week 14 of working from home due to the corona virus was a nice uptick, coming 141 steps away from my best total since the world fell apart.  The week got off to a slow start on Sunday, finishing with 3500 steps.  Monday was a nice improvement, coming in at 7300 steps.  Tuesday saw a decline, coming in with 4600 steps.  Wednesday was another downer, ending the day with 4300 steps.  Thursday was the low point of the week, coming in 41 steps shy of 2000.  Friday, thanks to an unplanned day off due to Juneteenth being added as a company holiday earlier in the week, gave me an opportunity to go out for a morning walk, which put me over 8600 steps.  Saturday used a trip out for breakfast outside under the tent to finish at 4000 steps.

Fitbit 6: Week 20

After 12 weeks of sheltering in place due to the corona virus, the world is starting to open back up again, but I am still home from work for the 13th consecutive week.  The week got off to a decent enough start on Sunday, finishing with 4100 steps.  Monday saw a slight improvement, moving up to 5200 steps.  Tuesday saw a slight decline, falling back to 5000 steps.  Wednesday was a low point, with a day of meetings leaving me with only 2600 steps.  Things improved on Thursday, as I shot back up to 4100 steps.  Friday was the high point of the week, as I headed out after work for a stroll around the not-in-use Guaranteed Rate Field, leading to a goal-beating 7900 steps.  Saturday was again the low point of the week, despite a trip out for a haircut for the first time in months, ending with only 2400 steps.

Week 12 of sheltering in place due to the corona virus was a big disappointment, especially after the gains of last week and with the world opening back up.  The week got off to a decent enough start on Sunday, where an overnight stay followed by supposed riot-induced closures left me with 4200 steps.  Monday was the high point of the week, coming in at 5700 steps thanks to a post-work trip to my sister’s house to celebrate Danny’s graduation.  Tuesday saw a decline, coming in 4 steps short of 4100.  Wednesday was the day of carpet installation, so I ended the day with 3800 steps and a staple in my foot.  Work continued on Thursday, with the return of all of the furniture, and I came in at 3000 steps.  Friday finished with only 3400 steps, despite heading out for a post-work soiree with college friends.  Saturday was the low point of the week, despite a trip out to a restaurant for the first time since March, and I finished 11 steps short of 1900.

Week 11 of sheltering in place due to the corona virus saw my highest step total since leaving work in mid-March.  The week got off to a decent enough start on Sunday, where I came in 5 steps under 4700.  Monday, thanks in part to the Memorial Day holiday, I managed to surpass my daily step total for the first time in nearly a month, finishing with 7700 steps.  Tuesday was slightly worse, but still a pandemic decent 7100 steps.  Wednesday fell back down to Earth, as the workers returned to start installing the new hardwood floor and I ended up with 3900 steps.  Work continued on Thursday, and I came in 16 steps shy of 3700 steps.  Friday moved to the sanding of the floor, and I finished the day 3 steps away from 3800.  Saturday was the low point of the week, as I left home for the new floor to be stained and stayed in a hotel, which left me with only 3600 steps.
