2011 Ticket Design + Other Changes

The White Sox went for a little change in their ticket design for 2011.  I’ve had season tickets since 2005 and they’ve always used basically the same, verticl layout.  This year we’ve got a nice horizontal approach, showing action shots of Matt Thornton, AJ Pierzynski, Alex Rios, Juan Pierre, Mark Buehrle, and Paul Konerko.

Other rumored changes for the upcoming season:

The TBD Sports Bar has been expanded and renamed Comiskey Grill.

The Jim Beam Club is now known as the Home Plate Club.

Connie’s Pizza is out as the official pizza, to be replaced by DiGiorno’s.  As someone who frequents the pizza stand, I’m slightly worried about this change.

6 months later, the White Sox finally landed the big left handed bat they were missing last season.  With AJ Pierzynski back in the fold as well, as that is missing is one more bat (PAUL-EE, PAUL-EE) and the offense is set.

White Sox win the 2005 World Series

Jenks with a deep breath.  He OKs the sign.  From the stretch, with a runner at second.  Here’s the 1-2 pitch to Palmeiro.  A ground ball, past Jenks, up the middle of the infield.  Uribe has it.  He throws.  OUT!  OUT!  A White Sox winner!  And a World Championship!  The White Sox have won the World Series and they’re mobbing each other on the field.

The celebration is on the mound right now at Minute Maid Park in Houston on Wednesday, October 26th, 2005.  The White Sox have won their first World Championship since 1917.  And the players are absolutley going wild on the infield.  Enjoy the celebration, Chicago.  This is long overdue.

All Time Records (through 2010)

Now that the 2010 season has come to an end, let’s take a look at team’s overall records in games I have personally attended over my entire life.  Every game I can remember or have tracked down is included, even the postseason.  Teams that move (Expos/Nationals), change “city” names (California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels) or change team names (Devil Rays/Rays) are split out per incarnation.

Book 4 (of 52) – Game Of My Life

Game of My Life: Chicago White Sox

Game of My Life: Chicago White Sox - Lew Freedman

Game of My Life: Chicago White Sox takes stories from 30 current and former Sox players, coaches, front office executives, and organists and asks them to describe the game of their life.  The only problem I had with the book was the order.  By going (mostly) in chronological order, many of the recollections came from the same game, especially those from either the 1959 pennant winners of th 2005 champions, and they started to get repetitive.  Had they been split up, it would have been more entertaining when going back to the well.
