We kick off October with a photo of the birthday girl to be from one of her skating exhibitions last fall.

Vacation Recap – Universal Studios
After a whole 9 weeks since my last trip to Florida, I woke up early on the morning of June 1 for a 6 AM flight to Orlando with the family. After landing, we caught the shuttle to the Hard Rock Hotel, where we had a long wait for the rooms to be ready. After a quick lunch and a round of mini golf at the Citiwalk, Dennis, Angelina, Danny, and I went to Islands of Adventure for a quick re-introduction to Harry Potter land and the Jurassic Park ride. We then headed back to the hotel, finally got in to our rooms, had dinner with appearances from a minion and Scooby Doo, and then called it an early night due to the early flight.
Thursday morning we got an early start and started at Universal, where we had a breakfast date at the Leaky Cauldron in the new Harry Potter area. After breakfast, we headed to Olivanders to pick up wands for the boys, then went through the line for the Gringotts ride, before my mom and I begged off before the ride began. It was at this point I got a text message from Jeff asking me to get him a wand. As you may recall, I was at this very spot with Jeff less than 2 months ago and he could have purchased his own wand, but he was being a bit of a baby. So, I went and bought him a wand, putting more thought in to it than I probably should have. Once everyone was done at Gringotts, we hopped on the Hogwarts Express for the ride to Islands of Adventure. Later, we wound up back at Universal, where Danny had an encounter with the shrunken head on the Knight Bus.
Friday was back to Universal for a character breakfast at Cafe LaBamba, followed by a return trip to Harry Potter land. After a quick trip back over to Islands of Adventure, we headed back to the hotel for some fun in the pool.
Cause It’s Summertime
2016 has hit its halfway point, and we mark the occasion with a picture of Angelina with the giant Superman statue in Metropolis, IL from last year’s Elvis trip.
FB2: Week 20
A successful week, with every day topping the 6000 step mark. Things got off to a good start on Sunday thanks to a trip down to US Cellular Field with Angelina to watch the White Sox embarrass themselves. Monday got the work week off to a good start, finishing with nearly 9000 steps. Tuesday and Wednesday managed to eke past my daily step goal, before Thursday obliterated it, thanks to a training class in North in the morning, coffee in the PM, and then a walk to Walgreens for a Father’s Day card after work. Friday was another successful day at work. Saturday got off to a tremendous start, with my step goal accomplished by 9 AM, before settling in for a relaxing afternoon and evening.

May Flowers
As May rolls in, we turn back to last May’s trip to Graceland as Angelina sports a pair of Elvis-ish glasses in one of the many gift shops that support the Elvis Presley empire in the 21st Century.
FB2: Week 4
As 5K February continues, last week turned out to be my best week overall since early October. Things got off to a good start on Sunday thanks to Danny’s basketball game followed by Angelina’s skating exhibition. Monday was my second 10,000 step day of the year, thanks mostly to running around the office. Tuesday and Wednesday were also very successful, finishing near or well above 9000 steps. Things slowed down on Thursday, but still made it above my goal. Friday was the worst day of the week, thanks to spending most of the day in a car travelling to and from Kalamazoo. The week ended with a nice day weather-wise, which led to my first outside walk of the year.

A Time For Love
February has arrived, and with it, a photo of Angelina from Christmas 2014 after opening her Doctor Who Blu-Ray set, featuring the adventures of the ninth, tenth, and eleventh doctors.
Fitbit Week 50
My best week of 2016 (so far) got off to a good start thanks to a trip down to Champaign to take in a disappointing Purdue loss to the Illini on Sunday. Monday approached 7000 steps despite temperatures that didn’t break 10 degrees, and the remainder of the work week all managed to surpass that lofty goal. Saturday was a disappointment, despite going to a skating event for Angelina.

2016 Calendar

Now that Christmas has come and gone, we can unveil the cover to this year’s calendar gift, given annually to my mom and sister, made up of pictures I have taken throughout the year. Once again. this year’s calendar was produced by the good folks at Shutterfly. As in year’s past, we will unveil each month’s photo on the first day of the month throughout 2015.
This year’s cover is made up of 12 pictures, each featuring some combination of Angelina, Danny, and Michael. We start with the shot above of all 3 riding a camel at the Memphis Zoo from our Elvis trip back in May.
Continuing counter clockwise is another shot of all 3 standing in front of the famous ivy on the outfield wall at Wrigley Field from the Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day conducted by the Cubs this summer.
Fitbit Week 40
The week got off to a disappointing start, as birthday celebrations for me, Angelina, and Danny meant falling under my daily goal on Sunday. Things picked up was the work week started, and the temperatures jumped up to an unseasonably warm 70 degrees. The big day of the week was Saturday, as Danny, Michael, and I headed down to West Lafayette for Purdue’s homecoming, where they embarrassed themselves against Illinois. Thankfully, the travels across campus did not result in an embarrassing step total for me, garnering my only 10,000 step day of the week.
Early last week, I passed the 2 million step mark for the year, well ahead of my goal. If I were to not take another step for the next 12 weeks, I would still average more than my daily goal for the year. This is the first time I’ve managed to surpass one of these goals that I’ve set for myself, so yay me.
