Fitbit III: Week 33

A tough week, both in the step game and emotionally.  Things got off to a slow start on Sunday, with under 5000 steps, despite a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field.  Monday bounced back a bit, finishing a whole 30 steps above goal, despite learning some people I loved were in a bad spot.  Tuesday was another down day, in which I spent hours during the day with Val trying to figure out her life then spending more hours at night with Hayley trying to do the same.  Wednesday bounced back again, this time 32 steps above goal, with another afternoon spent trying to help Val.  Thursday almost hit 7000 steps, for reasons that are now unknown to me.  Friday was back down again, finishing under 4800 steps.  Saturday used a good neighborhood walk to make it the week’s most successful day, finishing just over 8500 steps.

A great week, surpassing 60,000 steps for the first time in 5 weeks despite off days to start and end the week.  Things got off to a slow start on Sunday, finishing just over 5000 steps due in part to a solo trip to Guaranteed Rate Field.  Monday used an afternoon walk to cross 8500 days, pretty good for the Labor Day holiday.  Tuesday was another day off work and my first 10,000 step day of the week.  Wednesday was back to work, but still managed to surpass Tuesday’s total for my first back-to-back 10,000 step days since the end of July.  Thursday dropped back down to only 8000 steps, before Friday combined an afternoon walk around campus with a trip to the mini golf course with Hayley to approach 13,000 steps.  Saturday ended just over 6000 steps with another trip to Guaranteed Rate Field.

After a slow end to the previous week, this week got off to a slow start before picking up and ending on a strong note.  Sunday was a bad day, finishing just over 4000 steps, despite a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field.  Monday was another substandard day, my fourth in a row, finishing just above 5600 steps.  Things picked up on Tuesday, as I checked in with 8800 steps.  Wednesday was the big day of the week, thanks to a late night walk to clear my head.  Thursday and Friday were both back down around my daily goal of 6500 steps.  Saturday combined trips to both local baseball stadiums to approach 9400 steps.

A good week was afoot until things kind of fell apart at the end.  The week got off to a decent start with over 7600 steps on Sunday.  Monday was back to work, which came up at just over 9000 steps.  Tuesday was back down a bit, at 6600, before rebounding on Wednesday and Thursday.  Things came crashing down on Friday, where I finished under 4400 steps.  Saturday was a little better, but still below my goal despite a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field.

Fitbit III: Week 29

A decent, if unspectacular week, saved by one really good day.  The week got off to a decent start on Sunday with a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field to see the White Sox embarrass themselves against the Royals.  Monday used a post-work trip to the Glen to welcome Hayley back to America to nearly get to 10,000 steps.  Tuesday used a post-work walk to surpass 11,000 steps.  Wednesday was back down around 6700 steps, just getting past my daily goal.  Thursday was back over 7600 steps thanks to a second trip to the Glen for dinner.  Friday just managed to eek past 6500 steps, and Saturday was a complete bust, finishing under 3000 steps.

Fitbit III: Week 27

A tremendous day on Saturday helped pick up the slack for a lackluster week and led me to my second straight 60,000 step week.  Things got off to a slow start on Sunday, where I failed to surpass 5400 steps despite going to Guaranteed Rate Field to see the White Sox battle the Indians.  Things bounced back on Monday, where I used some work time walking plus an after work dinner to get over 9000 steps.  Tuesday was back down again, though I did manage to finish over 7000 steps.  Wednesday was another down day, coming in nearly 1000 steps below goal.  Thursday and Friday were both back up to just around my daily goal, with Friday somehow finishing with exactly 6500 steps.  Saturday morning, I headed to O’Hare to board a flight to Boston, where my travels around the city, including stops at the Museum of Science and Fenway Park, put me above 20,000 steps, my fifth such day over the past 7 years.

Fitbit III: Week 26

Another great week, as I surpassed 60,000 steps for the second time in the last 3 weeks and extended my streak of days over goal to 14.  The week got off to a decent start on Sunday, where morning brunch led to just surpassing my daily goal of 6500 steps.  Monday started at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet for what was supposed to be a week of jury duty, but an early exit brought me to Wrigley Field for day 1 of crosstown action, finishing well over 7000 steps.  Tuesday was the big day of the week, thanks to a return trip to Wrigley followed by my first trip to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in 21 years to see Sir Paul McCartney.  Wednesday was my down day of the week, with no plans and a mere 12 steps above goal.  Thursday, the crosstown action moved down to Guaranteed Rate field and I notched my second 10,000 step day of the week.  Friday was the first day I made it to the office all week, which I followed with a trip to Miller Park in Milwaukee, scoring my third 10,000 step day of the week.  After sleeping in on Saturday, I took a trip to the car wash, followed by exciting Sox/Indian action.

Another good week, as I was above goal for all 7 days and finished above 50,000 steps for the 5th consecutive week.  Things got off to a slow-ish start on Sunday, where I was still recovering from the trip to Disney World but still managed to finish a whole 6 steps above goal.  Monday was a big improvement, as I finished above 8500 thanks to some work day trots around the building.  Tuesday was back down near goal again, with an impressive 36 step cushion.  Wednesday was the high point of the week, clocking in at nearly 9000 steps thanks to an after work trip to Guaranteed Rate Field to see the White Sox debut of Yoan Moncada.  Thursday used a trip out to dinner after work to surpass 7500 steps.  Friday was back down closer to goal, but still managed to surpass it by over 100 steps.  Saturday was another big day, thanks to a trip to Ravinia to see Garbage and Blondie.

Fitbit III: Week 24

A tremendous week, as I posted my best total since late March/early April.  The week got off to a great start on Sunday with a 10,000 step day, thanks to a morning walk to Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast.  Monday used an impromptu day-long meeting in North plaza to surpass 8000 steps.  Tuesday nearly made it to 7000 steps, in part due to a walk over to Willow for day 2 of the impromptu meeting.  Wednesday was my second 10,000 step day of the week, surpassing 11,000 steps thanks to an after work walk.  Thursday was back down to 7000 steps, in part due to a post-work trip to the City Winery to see Matthew Sweet.  My best day of the week (and year) came on Friday, as I flew down to Florida with Angelina for a day at Disney World.  The 20,208 steps I logged are currently the 4th highest total I’ve accumulated in the 7 years I’ve been tracking.  Saturday only managed just over 5000 steps as I recovered from the previous day lounging around the house before heading out to Guaranteed Rate Field to watch the White Sox lose to the Mariners.

Fitbit III: Week 23

A good week, as I posted my highest total in a month.  Things got off to another slow start as, despite a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field, I failed to reach my daily goal on Sunday for the 5th straight week.  Monday was a good bounce back, coming in just under 9000 steps thanks to a long walk on the day off.  Tuesday was Independence Day, which, again, used a long neighborhood walk to surpass 8300 steps.  Wednesday was back to work, where I managed to surpass 9000 steps.  Another off day on Thursday, thanks to a make-up date at Wrigley Field from a May rainout, ended with 7500 steps.  Friday was the big day of the week, combining an exciting work day with an afternoon walk for a 10,000 step day.  Saturday combined a trip to the grocery store, a haircut, and going in to the city for Roscoe Village Burger Fest and an evening showing of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
