It’s funny how our most recent experiences inform our emotional responses, like love and hate. Ask me a week from now, or even a week ago, and I would probably think of 25 things I “hate” before I got to IU. But coming off of homecoming weekend, and a trip back down to campus, this sticks out in my head. So, I will go with the red and white polyester wearing Hoosiers from Bloomington.
Being in my mid-to-late 30s and having a full time job and a mortgage, I no longer do much that can really be described as fucked up. Back in high school and college, I guess it would be my old friend Scott.
Once again, I am going with a picture of my mom. I guess that is a byproduct of my being single, so I don’t have a significant other to use.
Before you call me a ghoul, it isn’t the picture itself but the circumstances in which I first came across it. Sometime in 2000 or 2001, a friend and I were passing the work day by looking at everyone’s favorite website, AmIHotOrNot.com (is that even still around?). After going through a dozen girls dressed to the nines and trying to decide if they were in fact hot or not, this picture pops up. We laughed for a good 5-10 minutes due mostly to the absurdity of the picture being on the site.
At the end of the day, I don’t know if I have a most treasured item. I’m going with my house (please ignore the boot, it’s a long story), which is my most expensive item and where I keep pretty much the rest of the stuff.

As a partial season ticket holder, I was able to get tickets to Game 2 of the 2005 World Series. Paul Konerko connects on the first pitch for a grand slam to give the White Sox the lead. I also could have gone with the Scott Podsednik walkoff later in the game, but this one actually gave me the feeling that 1) we could win the game and 2) we could win the series.
What better way to spend an evening than watching a baseball game?
Well, with Mother’s Day in all of our minds, I’ll go with her, since I have literally known her all of my life.
