Veteran catcher Bob Melvin joined the White Sox via trade from the Angels for Jeff Schwarz on July 22, 1994.  He managed to appear in 11 games in the 21 days before the strike wiped out the remainder of the season and ended Melvin’s career.

Melvin’s next career, as a major league manager, had him crossing paths once again with his former team as his first opponent while helming the A’s was the White Sox.

Gilbert, originally drafted by the Cubs, spent his entire major league career with the 1985 White Sox.

 

Name: Luis Andujar

Years With White Sox: 1995-1996

Andujar pitched in 10 games for the Sox before being traded for Tony Castillo.

 

Name: Jeff Schwarz

Years With White Sox: 1993-1994

Schwarz somehow debuted with 41 games for the ’93 AL West Champs and put up a decent 3.71 ERA and then disappeared after 13 games the following season.
