So this week had 2 things working against it: 1) My unexplained leg pain that followed me home from Belfast and 2) the problems getting the tracker to work following the battery change which managed to wipe out part of Wednesday and all of Thursday.
Well, I managed to get the tracker working again today. For some reason, taking the new battery out, blowing on the insides, and putting it back in got things going again. So, as a quick review, Sunday set an all-time high thanks to the Titanic museum and Monday and Tuesday mostly had work and drinking. Wednesday (ignoring the green) was pretty much even with the previous 2 days. Thursday got a bit of a bump thanks to a fire alarm, which meant going down and up 5 flights of stairs, plus an excursion out to Queens University. Friday had work, a trip out to Carrickfergus castle. Saturday was supposed to be a day of flying back to the US, but there was a last minute change of plans that kept me in Belfast for another day of shopping, pool, and walking around town.
The week in Belfast got off to a pretty good start with nearly 15,000 steps, and my largest single day total, thanks to a trip to the Titanic museum, followed by some shopping and drinking. Monday and Tuesday were decent days with work during the day and pubs at night. After that, I’m not sure what happened. I changed the battery in the tracker, which usually gets things going again, but so far there has been nothing for most of Wednesday through today. If this keeps up, I may need to try and get a new tracker. If the rest of the week does ever show up, I’ll post an update.
The week got off to a slow start as I recovered from being sick. Thursday put me back over the 5000 step goal thanks to bowling. Much of Friday was spent on the plane to Belfast. Saturday’s first day in Belfast included navigating the airport and customs and arriving at the hotel before our rooms were available.
Well, we had the makings of a decent, if not spectacular week. Sunday was near 5000, which lately seems to be an accomplishment all of its own. Monday and Tuesday both managed to break the 5000 mark, and Wednesday, which was supposed to be capped off with a Cubs game but instead ended up with me and a bucket saying goodbye to anything and everything I had eaten all day. Thus ended much of the week’s activity.
After a day of rest following the 5K, it looked like a good week was in the works. Monday started things off with a nice walk around the campus at work followed by a bowling outing with Danny and Michael. Tuesday was our area picnic, which included some volleyball, which the tool translated in to nearly 9000 steps. From there, things leveled off to their sad normal levels on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday benefited from Elvis Night at the Cell, as a different parking lot led to post-game ramps instead of the escalator. Saturday was another wasted day, with only another Sox game, this time with escalators, on the docket.
Well, a slow start turned into a pretty good week, helped along, of course, by the 5K on Saturday. The work week itself was pretty good, with every day over 5000 steps and 2 days over 8000. Saturday, between the race and the walk to and from the El, turned out to be my highest step total since I’ve had the tracker, coming in at 14,688 steps.
