Last May, we had some fun with the folks at Comcast that resulted in doubling my internet download speed from 6.41 Mbps to 14.87 Mbps.
As part of the fix to this weekend’s troubles, which involved swapping out some splitters and an amplifier, the cable guy mentioned that it would have a positive effect on the internet speed as well. So how much of an effect did it have?
36.07 Mbps?? That’s more than double the previous speed, which was more than double what I had been putting up with just 1 year ago. Now, I have no way to prove that all of this was done with the tweak over the weekend, but it certainly makes a few hours without cable and missed episodes of SNL and Ripper Street well worth it.
