Years With White Sox: 1982-1983
Chris Nyman was originally drafted by the White Sox in 1973, but decided to attend Arizona State rather than sign. 4 years later, he joined the White Sox as an amateur free agent. He slowly worked his way through the system, eventually making his major league debut on July 28, 1982 against the Orioles. Nyman, whose brother Nyls also played for the White Sox between 1974 and 1977, had just over 100 AB over the course of his 2 seasons in the big leagues.
Following the White Sox disappointing loss to the Orioles in the 1983 ALCS, Nyman was sold to the Nankia Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League, ending his major league career.
