2024 Calendar

Now that Christmas has come and gone, we can unveil the cover to this year’s calendar gift, given annually to my mom and sister, and made up of pictures I have taken throughout the year.  I imagine I will be able to squeeze out one more version of this next year, but, with both Angelina and Danny graduating and Michael still mostly homebound, that will probably be it.  As in year’s past. the calendar was produced by the good folks at Shutterfly and we will unveil each month’s photo(s) on the first day of the month throughout 2024.

This year’s cover features Michael posing with his parents prior to his high school graduation this past June and Angelina and Danny posing with their Nana at the band tailgate prior to Danny’s Senior Day at the last Purdue football game of the year last month.

Fitbit IX – Week 40

Another week of training put me in a big hole, but a weekend trip out East almost pulled me back up over 30,000 steps.  The week got off to a decent start on Sunday, finishing with 4600 steps.  Things fell off a bit on Monday, going down to 3300 steps.  Another week of morning training started on Tuesday, which left me 25 steps shy of 2500.  Wednesday saw a slight increase, coming just 4 steps away from 2600.  Thursday saw a big increase, jumping back up to 4100 steps.  Celebrating my birthday on Friday pushed me up over 4500 steps.  A trip to Boston on Saturday to see Angelina was easily my best day of the week, finishing with 8000 steps, the first time I passed my daily goal in nearly a month.

The Dog Days

As summer winds down and everyone gets ready to head back to school, we turn the page to August with a pair of pictures of Angelina with signs.  First, she poses with her Nana beneath the sign for the now-closed Ida’s Restaurant in Boston.  In the other photo, her and Danny find themselves below the marquee for Mercury Theater from our visit in November to see the stage production of Clue.

Fitbit IX – Week 7

A week of activity led to my best total since my trip to Florida to start the year.  Things got off to a poor start on Sunday as I managed to record just 3400 steps despite heading out to dinner with Angelina.  Monday trended upwards thanks to my first day of jury duty, finishing with just 4700 steps.  Day two on Tuesday was even better, jumping up to 6000 steps, my highest total since early February’s trip to Bloomington.  Day three of jury duty on Wednesday pushed me to the week’s high point, ending the day over 6800 steps, my highest total since the Citrus Bowl on January 2.  A slight decline on Thursday, due to only one trip back and forth to the jury parking lot, put me back down to 4500 steps.  Wrapping up jury duty on Friday left me 6 steps shy of 4500.  A trip to the United Center on Saturday to see Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament left me just 6 steps away from 5000.
