FB4: Week 37

Yet another down week, doomed by a slow start on Sunday, where I finished with an anemic 3500 steps.  Monday was an improvement, but still was 810 steps shy of my daily goal.  Tuesday was even worse, falling short of 4900 steps.  Wednesday, again, was an improvement, but was still nearly 400 steps short of my goal.  Thursday used an after work trip out for drinks to come close, but still 72 steps short, of my daily goal.  Friday was the first successful day of the week, with a whole 24 steps to spare.  Saturday was the big winner of the week, finishing with over 8500 steps.

Book 20 (of 52) – The Last Time I Lied

The Last Time I Lied – Riley Sager

In Riley Sager’s second novel, The Last Time I Lied, a young artist returns to the summer camp as a counselor where her three roommates went missing fifteen years before, hoping to finally get some closure.  While she tries to figure out what happened years ago, another triplet of missing girls causes the finger of blame to point back towards her.

Picking up on a theme from last year’s Final Girls, Sager returns to summer camp in his latest work.  Whether it is meant to be a recurring theme or just a coincidence remains to be seen.  It looks like we’ll get a better idea next year, when his third novel in as many years is released.  I look forward to finding out.

FB4: Week 36

A disappointing week, as I headed back to work after my long trip to Europe.  Sunday was a good start to the week, garnering my highest step total with nearly 8700 steps.  Monday was my first day back at work and my first day sequestered up on the 6th floor for a special assignment.  I finished just shy of 6500 steps.  Tuesday was a nice bounce back, with 8600 steps thanks to a post-work trip to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs blow the Wild Card game against the Rockies, which bled in to Wednesday morning.  Thanks to that, I finished with nearly 8400 steps.  Thursday was another down day, coming in 4 steps higher than Monday’s total.  Friday was even worse, finishing just over 5000 steps.  Saturday was a bust, with just over 1800 steps.

2018 New Fall Season – Fridays

old-tv-set1Our final look at the new fall season gives us Friday’s amazing slate of shows.

7:00

Blindspot – The show returns for a shocking fourth season.

8:00

Hawaii Five-0 – The ninth season of the show corresponds with the 50th anniversary of the original.

9:00

Blue Bloods – A change in family dynamics looks to shake things up for the first family of the NYPD as they return for their ninth season.

2018 New Fall Season – Thursdays

old-tv-set1Thursday night is traditionally the busiest night of the week for my television viewing habits. Here’s what’s on the slate for this season.

7:00

Grey’s Anatomy – The medical drama enters its 15th season.  A few departures at the end of last season means there will be some new (and one old) face coming to the hospital this season.

The Big Bang Theory – With the NFL moving on to other networks, the show returns to Thursdays for its 12th, and final, season.

The Good Place – I haven’t watched the show since the middle of season 2, so who knows if I’ll even come back to it.

8:00

Station 19 – I never got around to watching the Grey’s spin-off last spring, but still have most of the episodes on the DVR.  If I find the time, maybe I’ll go back.

8:30

Murphy Brown – The gang, led by Candice Bergen, return to see if they can recapture the magic from the show’s original run.

2018 New Fall Season – Wednesdays

old-tv-set1We have reached the half way point of our look at the offerings for the new fall season.  Here’s what Wednesdays have on tap for the fall.

7:00

Riverdale – The sexy version of the Archie comics returns for its third season, assuming I ever catch up on the end of the second.

8:00

Modern Family – The comedy, entering its tenth season, is really starting to show its age.  It’s still fun, but the plots are starting to get a little out there.

SEAL Team – David Boreanaz returns for a second season of the procedural, after their deployment to the Middle East.

9:00

Criminal Minds – Season 14 of the show picks up where last season ended, with Reid and Penelope captured.

2018 New Fall Season – Tuesdays

old-tv-set1Continuing our look at the new fall season, here are the offerings that I may find myself interested in for Tuesdays.

7:00

The Conners – Following last spring’s Twitter meltdown by Roseanne Barr and the cancellation of the reboot of Roseanne, the show moves on without her.  Will it be worth watching?  I’m honestly not sure.

The Flash – The gang returns for the fifth season.

The Gifted – The series about Marvel’s mutants returns for a second season.  I still need to finish the first.

8:00

Black-ish – For its fifth season, the show moves on without creator Kenya Barris.

FBI – Missy Peregrym and Jeremy Sisto are FBI agents trying to keep New York safe.

This Is Us – The emotionally manipulative hit is back for a third season, assuming I ever go back and finish the previous one.

Black Lightning – The Pierce family returns for their second season, which I will be happy to watch once I get done with season one.

8:30

Splitting Up Together – After a successful run last spring, the show, starring Oliver Hudson and Jenna Fischer, returns for another go-around.

9:00

The RookieCastle alum Nathan Fillion re-teams with his former EP for this tale about the oldest rookie police officer in the LAPD.

2018 New Fall Season – Mondays

old-tv-set1We continue our annual look at the new fall season with Monday night’s offerings, which features some returning favorites and a few new shows with some potential.

7:00

Arrow – Season 7 starts with Oliver Queen in jail after being outed as the Green Arrow.

The Neighborhood – Max Greenfield and Beth Behrs return as a white family who move into a black neighborhood in LA.

8:00

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – The Legends return for their 4th season, one I’m sure to enjoy once I go back and watch season 3.

2018 New Fall Season – Sundays

It is time once again to dive in to the new fall lineups for the television season that kicked into gear two weeks ago. We start this year with Sunday night’s offerings, which features a little more programming that interests me than last year.

7:00

God Friended Me – What if you took last season’s Kevin (Probably) Saves The World and add in social media?  Then you probably get this show.

Supergirl – The CW expands to a new night, and moves one of their DC hits to kick off the festivities.

8:00

Charmed – A reboot of the old WB hit, replacing the Halliwell sisters with a new collection of witches.

Shameless – Season 9 of the show started a few weeks back.

Ray Donovan – The show returns for its sixth season at the end of October.

Doctor Who – The 11th season kicks off with a new show runner and a new Doctor, Jodie Whitaker.

9:00

Camping – Jennifer Garner and David Tennant team up for this adaptation of the British comedy.

FB4: Week 35

A disappointing week, despite some good days as my big European vacation winds down.  Things got off to a slow start on Sunday, as I traveled from Rome to Edinburgh, finishing just over 3500 steps.  Monday was the big day of the week, coming in nearly 12,800 steps, thanks to my trip to Edinburgh Castle and the surrounding sites.  Tuesday I left Scotland and headed back to Dublin, where I put up over 9300 steps.  Wednesday ended up with almost 5500 steps, as I had a long flight from Dublin back to the US.  Thursday came in just shy of 8900 steps, as I resumed my walks around the neighborhood.  Friday was a disappointing day, with less than 4200 steps, as I mostly stayed in.  Saturday was even worse, as I failed to hit even 1900 steps.
