Prior to this week, it had been quite a while since I had been to the dentist. Now, I’ve been to two in the past 4 days. I came down with a nasty toothache over the weekend, which was bad enough to make me finally give in and see a dentist on Tuesday. He gave me an antibiotic to clear up the infection that was causing the pain and a referral to the oral surgeon to remove two teeth.
That visit was this morning. It was quick, taking less than a half hour, and now I sit here with a numb mouth filled with gauze. I’m already starving, but am not allowed solid food until tomorrow. No pain as of yet, but, as I said, everything is still numb.
