2011 Movie Review – Part 3

In 2011, I managed to see movies that were released in 1972-1973, 1975-1976, 1978, 1985, 1997-1998, 2001-2002, and 2004-2011.

Now, continuing Thursday’s look at the second batch of 50 movies that I saw last year, here are movies 100 – 13?.

Chain Letter (2010)

A decent horror flick about the dangers of not forwarding on those emails.

The Dilemma (2011)

What happens when a cheating spouse gets in the way of business and a bromance.

Letters To Juliet (2010)

A predictable tale of love, thanks to a letter written decades ago.

The Muppets (2011)

The Muppets return to the big screen for the first time in over a decade, and it was well worth the wait.  If you grew up with the Muppets and did not enjoy this movie, you have no soul.

X-Men: First Class (2011)

A prequel, showing the formation of the original X-Men and how they helped stop the Cuban missle crisis.

Barley Legal (2011)

Three nubile young woman, who all share the same birthday, make a pact to lose their virginity.

Green Zone (2010)

Matt Damon finds that some players in the war zone have a different agenda than the stated goal.

Choose (2011)

An interesting tale about a sadist who makes his victims choose how they would prefer to be maimed, taking away that which is most precious to them.

Table For Three (2009)

A somewhat boring tale of a man who takes in a couple as roommates, who then try to ruin his every relationship.

Hanna (2011)

Bit of a mess about a young girl trained to kill her father’s old intelligence bosses.

Bridesmaids (2011)

The so-called woman’s version of The Hangover.  It was enjoyable, but not the laugh riot it was made out to be.

Super 8 (2011)

A group of kids making a zombie film stumble across an escaped alien creature and the government agents trying to contain the situation.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

In my opinion, the best superhero film of 2011.  I should have chosen to see this in the theater instead of Thor.

Kill Theory (2009)

Another story about a sadist making his victims choose, although this time with a And Then There Were None twist thrown in.

Green Lantern (2011)

And this was easily the worst superhero film of the year.  A better script would have done this film wonders.

30 Minutes Or Less (2011)

A pretty decent comedy about a pizza delivery boy forced to rob a bank.

Bad Teacher (2011)

Another decent comedy, this time about a materialistic woman who learns to love something other than money.

The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

Matt Damon fights back against the idea that all of our lives are pre-determined.

Tomboy (1985)

A gorgeous girl is into cars, and falls in love with a professional driver.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (2011)

An old Autobot was found on the moon in 1969 and has now come back to betray his friends in an attempt to revive Cybertron.

Friends With Benefits (2011)

A similar premise to No Strings Attached, but executed 100% better.

Psychic Experiment (2010)

Quite possibly the worst film I saw all year.  An amateurish story that was poorly acted.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011)

David Fincher’s English speaking adaption of the best selling book.

Fright Night (2011)

A more straight-up horror remake of the 80s horror/comedy.

The Change-Up (2011)

The latest mind switching bodies attempt.  No new ground being broken here.

The Last House On The Left (1972)

The start of Wes Craven’s career.  A little tamer than I would have expected.

Super (2010)

Rainn Wilson decides to become a superhero in an attempt to save his marriage.

Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)

Pretty good comedy about a man whose marriage falls apart and he tries to put it, and himself, back together again.

Hall Pass (2011)

Goofy comedy about two men who fantasize about all the women they would bang if given the chance and the wives who give them said chance.

Colombiana (2011)

A passable action flick about a woman who looks to avenge the death of her parents years before.

Feast (2005)

A decent low-budget horror flick.
