Last week, former Purdue forward Trey Kaufman-Renn filed a lawsuit against the NCAA looking for a sixth season of NCAA eligibility and asking a judge to prevent the NCAA from hindering him from enrolling, practicing or competing for an NCAA program.  Yesterday, a judge granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA, allowing Kaufman-Renn to join a college team while awaiting another hearing for a preliminary injunction.

One place he will not end up is back in Mackey Arena.  In an Instagram post yesterday, Kaufman-Renn said his “chapter in black and gold has come to an end” and that he’s “officially eligible for the 2026-27 college basketball season and excited for what comes next.”
