Book 15 (of 52) – Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone

Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone – Benjamin Stevenson

An author joins his family at a snowy ski resort for a reunion, welcoming his brother out of jail for a murder of a disgraced cop.  When the bodies start piling up, he starts to investigate, knowing the “rules” of mysteries.  What he finds may change his family dynamics for years to come.

I don’t really remember how Benjamin Stevenson’s Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone landed on my radar, but with a title like that, how could I not dive in.  It is a gripping mystery told in a novel (in more ways than one) way, letting you know about the hangups of the genre as he subtly subverts them while also living in to them.  A sequel has already been released, with a third entry due later this year, so I’m sure I’ll be revisiting this world soon.
