The latest show from Kevin Williamson, creator of Dawson’s Creek and the Scream franchise, focused on a LAPD team that worked stalking cases. Starring Maggie Q and Derbel McDillet, er, Dylan McDermott, the show was eviscerated by critics for its alleged misogyny, the show actually debuted to big numbers, but quickly fell off as viewers realized that it wasn’t a particularly good show. Despite ending on a cliffhanger, it certainly won’t be missed.

Midseason Review – Wednesdays
It’s Hump Day. Time to take a look back at my thoughts on the midweek offerings for the fall season.
7:00
Arrow – After a stellar second season, Arrow returns for more angtsy fun. On tap for this season are DC stalwarts Ra’s Al Ghul and Ray Palmer.
Considering the main character was killed in the winter finale last month, the show will have to jump through a hoop or two to bring him back.
The Mysteries of Laura – Quite possibly the worst pilot I’ve seen ever. What a waste of good talent.
I did not go back for any future entries after having suffered through the pilot.

Modern Family – The comedy, entering its sixth season, is starting to show its age. It’s still fun, but the plots are starting to get a little out there.
I think it is safe to say that we are much closer to the end of this shows run than we are to the beginning.
Criminal Minds – The show returns for its tenth season with a new team member, the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt.
I don’t know what else there is to say about this show at this point. It is what it is.
Red Band Society – My initial instinct was to give this one a pass, but a few good reviews, plus an early premiere, made me decide to tune in.

CBS Upfronts
CBS, which fell behind NBC in the battle for 18-49 year olds thanks to the NFL and Olympics, mixed up their schedule for the fall at their upfront presentation this week. After inking a deal to simulcast 8 weeks of Thursday Night Football, The Big Bang Theory will temporarily move back to Mondays, bumping 2 Broke Girls off the schedule until November. Katharine McPhee stars in Scorpion, which will take the 8:00 hour.
Person of Interest stays where it is on Tuesday and Criminal Minds continues on Wednesdays. Kevin Williamson brings a new drama, Stalker, to Wednesday featuring Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q. Once the football commitment ends at the end of October, BBT and Elementary return to Thursdays. The Amazing Race moves to Fridays, where it will be followed by holdovers Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods. The Good Wife continues on Sundays, where it will be joined be OG CSI and Tea Leoni’s new show, Madam Secretary.
The Mentalist will start off on the bench, along with a new version of The Odd Couple, starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon. Missing altogether is How I Met Your Dad, the “spinoff” of How I Met Your Mother that seemed like a shoe-in to get picked up.
