In my latest audiobook adventure, Steve West reads Matthew Walker’s Why We Sleep, a treatise on the importance of proper sleep. He details why and how we sleep, what happens when we dream, the impact sleeping and dreaming have on the brain, and disorders that get in the way of sleep.
What he doesn’t address is how to go about getting that elusive 8 hours of sleep per night. I haven’t set an alarm clock in years and, on a real good night, I max out around 7 hours (according to my Fitbit). Most nights I’m lucky to get 6. Though, I will say, since I started “reading” this book, I have been sleeping in a little more. Maybe the power of suggestion is all I needed?
