\"Emmy_statue\"<\/a>With the\u00a0Emmy Awards scheduled for Sunday night, here are my predictions for the\u00a0awards for Comedy shows.\u00a0 I most likely have seen most of these shows, so, unlike my annual Oscar predictions, I will not mostly be going on gut feel and word of mouth, but will have a somewhat informed decision.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Comedy<\/h3>\n

Louie<\/em><\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em><\/p>\n

Parks and Recreation<\/em><\/p>\n

Silicon Valley<\/em><\/p>\n

Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt<\/em><\/p>\n

Veep<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em> won last year and would seem to be the obvious choice here, since the voters love it. \u00a0But Veep<\/em> is certainly my dark horse candidate, so I’ll go with that.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actress In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie<\/em><\/p>\n

Lisa Kudrow, The Comeback<\/em><\/p>\n

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreation<\/em><\/p>\n

Amy Schumer,\u00a0Inside Amy Schumer<\/em><\/p>\n

Lily Tomlin, Grace and Frankie<\/em><\/p>\n

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won this award the past two years, and I see no reason why she won’t repeat again this year.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actor In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Anthony Anderson, Black-ish<\/em><\/p>\n

Don Cheadle,\u00a0House of Lies<\/em><\/p>\n

Louis CK, Louie<\/em><\/p>\n

Will Forte,\u00a0The Last Man on Earth<\/em><\/p>\n

Matt LeBlanc, Episodes<\/em><\/p>\n

William H. Macy, Shameless<\/em><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Tambor,\u00a0Transparent<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jim Parsons brought home the award last year for his role as Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory<\/em>, but managed to not be nominated this year. \u00a0My guess is that Jeffrey Tambor takes home the trophy for Amazon’s hit series.<\/p>\n

Julie Bowen, Modern Family<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t have much of a strong feeling one way or the other, so I’m going with Julie Bowen.<\/p>\n

Tina Fey,\u00a0Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt<\/em><\/p>\n

Gaby Hoffman, Girls<\/em><\/p>\n

Sadly, I already know who won this award, so rather than pretend otherwise, I’ll go along with the Academy and give it to Joan Cusack.<\/p>\n
