\"Emmy_statue\"<\/a>With the\u00a0Emmy Awards scheduled for Monday night, it’s time for day three of my predictions for the\u00a0awards. \u00a0Today, we’re\u00a0focusing on the awards for Dramas.\u00a0 I most likely have seen most of these shows, so, unlike my annual Oscar predictions, I will not mostly be going on gut feel and word of mouth, but will have a somewhat informed decision.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Drama<\/h3>\n

Breaking Bad<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Downton Abbey<\/em><\/p>\n

Game of Thrones<\/em><\/p>\n

House of Cards<\/em><\/p>\n

Mad Men<\/em><\/p>\n

True Detective<\/em><\/p>\n

Well, so much for having seen most of these. \u00a0True Detective<\/em> was the only one of these nominees that I’ve seen. \u00a0This is a tough call, but I imagine that the final season of\u00a0Breaking Bad<\/em> takes home the prize.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actress In A Drama<\/h3>\n

Lizzy Caplan, Masters of Sex<\/i><\/p>\n

Claire Danes, Homeland<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey<\/em><\/p>\n

Julianne Margulies, The Good Wife<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Kerry Washington, Scandal<\/em><\/p>\n

Robin Wright, House of Cards<\/em><\/p>\n

This past season of The Good Wife<\/em> was spectacular, and a lot of that was due to Julianne Margulies. \u00a0She should definitely take home the trophy, especially since Tatiana Maslany was overlooked again for her work in Orphan Black<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actor In A Drama<\/h3>\n

Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom<\/em><\/p>\n

Jon Hamm, Mad Men<\/em><\/p>\n

Woody Harrelson,\u00a0True Detective<\/em><\/p>\n

Matthew McConaughey,\u00a0True Detective<\/em><\/p>\n

Kevin Spacey, House of Cards<\/em><\/p>\n

My guess is that this is a person race, between Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey and Bryan Cranston. \u00a0I think this will be Breaking Bad<\/em>‘s night once again, which means that Bryan Cranston will have another trophy to lord over the Adam Carollas of the world.<\/p>\n

Anna Gunn, Breaking Bad<\/em><\/p>\n

Maggie Smith, Downton Abbey<\/em><\/p>\n

Joanne Froggatt, Downton Abbey<\/em><\/p>\n

Christine Baranski, The Good Wife<\/em><\/p>\n

Lena Headey, Games of Thrones<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Christina Hendricks, Mad Men<\/em><\/p>\n

With the novelty of Downton Abbey<\/em> seeming to have worn off, my guess is the powers that be will look to hitch their star to the Games of Thrones<\/em> wagon.<\/p>\n

Mandy Patinkin, Homeland<\/em><\/p>\n

I expect that Aaron Paul will continue to give Breaking Bad<\/em> a night to remember.<\/p>\n

Diana Rigg, Game of Thrones<\/em><\/p>\n

Kate Burton, Scandal<\/em><\/p>\n

Kate Mara, House of Cards<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t have much insight into this one, so I’ll take a shot in the dark and guess that Kate Mara will take home the award for her work on the Netflix series.<\/p>\n
