\"old-tv-set1\"<\/a>We continue our\u00a0look back<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0my expectations for the\u00a0fall television season, and today we are focusing on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n

7:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marvel\u2019s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.<\/em>\u00a0– Following the success of\u00a0The Avengers<\/em>, ABC, corporate sibling of Marvel, gets to air the spin-off featuring a team of SHIELD agents tracking down threats across the globe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What looked to be the hit show of the fall has thus far disappointed. \u00a0From a strictly Marvel perspective, the lack of any recognizable characters, beyond Coulson, from the movie universe has been a disappointment. \u00a0From a Whedon perspective, the show has lacked any of the heart that previous Mutant Enemy productions have shown. \u00a0It may be that this show just has too many corporate masters to appease in order to put on a decent show. \u00a0I’ll keep watching, though, in the hopes that it improves.<\/p>\n

7:30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>\u00a0– There hasn\u2019t been a real police workplace comedy since\u00a0Barney Miller<\/em>\u00a0left the air in 1982. \u00a0The premiere episode wasn\u2019t bad, but sometimes a little bit of Andy Samberg can go a long way.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The show still struggles occasionally with Andy Samberg overload, but, besides that, it has been a very surprising comedy hit.<\/p>\n

8:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

New Girl<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 This show really found its footing once Zooey Deschanel\u2019s Jess and Jake Johnson\u2019s Nick hooked up towards the end of last season. \u00a0The two have incredible chemistry, and keeping them apart really served no purpose. \u00a0Now if only they could find a consistent usage for Winston.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With Happy Endings<\/em> ending, Damon Wayans Jr. was available to return to the role he played in the pilot, at least for the remainder of this season. \u00a0Things have been a little uneven this season.<\/p>\n

Supernatural<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 The show moves back to Tuesdays, in its original time slot from when it premiered, for its 9th season. \u00a0The show has tried to find a consistent purpose post-season 5 and the wrap up of the original storyline. \u00a0Maybe another year will do it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Is there a classic rock tune hasn’t shown up on Supernatural<\/em> yet? \u00a0To be honest, I think this show has outlived its usefulness by this point. \u00a0It’s not that it has gotten bad, but just very repetitive.<\/p>\n

8:30<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mindy Project<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Season 1 was a little uneven, as the show went through numerous cast changes as they tried to figure out what kind of show they had. \u00a0At its worst, it is still amusing, so I\u2019ll be going along for season 2.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Adam Pally also found his way to FOX’s Tuesday night slate following the end of Happy Endings<\/em>. \u00a0The show continues to be uneven, even though the cast shakeups have settled down. \u00a0The writers are really just treading water before the eventual hookup of Mindy Kaling and Chris Messina’s characters.<\/p>\n

Trophy Wife<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Early reviews are positive for this Malin Akerman vehicle, so I\u2019ll likely give it a try..<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This show was surprisingly funny and became one of my favorite new shows of the year.<\/p>\n

9:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Person of Interest<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 How do you improve upon what, after an inauspicious start, turned in to one of the more exciting shows on television? \u00a0You add Amy Acker and Sarah Shahi to the main cast, that\u2019s how.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The show keeps getting better, although I am not too sure about the death of Det. Carter and the loss of Taraji P. Henson from the cast.<\/p>\n

With that out of the way, here are the new\/returning shows for Tuesday nights:<\/p>\n

Pretty Little Liars<\/em> – Now that the girls know that Allison is still alive and the viewers know who the latest version of A is, the soap continues to spin its yarn.<\/p>\n

Killer Women<\/em> – Tricia Helfer stars as the only woman Texas ranger in a show that has already seen its time on the air shortened.<\/p>\n

Cougar Town<\/em> – The Cul-du-sac crew returns for more wacky adventures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
