\"tigers\"<\/a>To paraphrase from a famous movie, the one constant through all the years has been baseball.\u00a0 As we head into 2026, we continue our look at the all-time leaders in both offensive and defensive categories for all 30 teams. Today, we take a deeper dive into the Detroit Tigers.<\/p>\n

The Tigers began life in 1894 as part of the Western League and became a charter franchise of the American\u00a0League in 1901, making them the oldest one city, one name franchise in the American League.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen 286 players wearing the Tigers uniform in the 65 of their games that I\u2019ve attended live, including the second game ever, and my first game, at the new Comiskey Park and home games at both Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park.<\/p>\n
