(max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" \/><\/a>Over my 48 years, I\u2019ve done my fair share of travelling across these United States.\u00a0 I thought it would be an interesting experiment go look back at those trips to each of the 31 states I have visited (62% isn\u2019t bad, is it?) and see if, and when, I may be returning.\u00a0 Working in alphabetical order, we continue today with the 36th state to be added to the Union: Nevada<\/p>\n<p><strong>State:<\/strong> Nevada<br \/>\n<strong>Joined the Union:<\/strong> 1864<br \/>\n<strong>Visits:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p>Nevada has been a mecca for adult entertainment since the 1931, when Nevada legalized casino gambling.\u00a0 Those casinos in Las Vegas were responsible for both of my trips to the Silver State.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Vegas.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13384\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Vegas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"816\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Vegas.jpg 816w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Vegas-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Vegas-768x358.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 816px) 100vw, 816px\" \/><\/a>My first trip to Nevada came in 2007, when I spent most of a week in Las Vegas.\u00a0 Staying at the Luxor, I did some light gambling, took in some shows, saw the funeral procession of Robert Goulet as it went down the Strip, and saw a stand-up performance by Howie Mandel.\u00a0 To save money, I checked out of my hotel on Friday despite heading home first thing Saturday morning.\u00a0 I do not recommend this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/chainsmokers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13966\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/chainsmokers.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"784\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/chainsmokers.jpg 784w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/chainsmokers-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/chainsmokers-768x434.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px\" \/><\/a>My next, and most recent, visit came in 2018 for the IBM Think conference.\u00a0 I arrived in town on a Sunday, where I headed to Caesar\u2019s Palace to see a little show called <em>Absinthe<\/em>.\u00a0 The conference began the next day, with sessions at both the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay.\u00a0 Tuesday night&#8217;s entertainment was a Barenaked Ladies concert, while Wednesday featured a post-conference concert by The Chainsmokers.\u00a0 The conference wrapped up on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Will I return?\u00a0 While I have no plans, I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll get there again someday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over
