{"id":16873,"date":"2021-04-12T04:32:18","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T10:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?p=16873"},"modified":"2021-01-16T15:02:01","modified_gmt":"2021-01-16T21:02:01","slug":"itunes-top-200-artists-81-89","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-81-89\/","title":{"rendered":"iTunes Top 200 Artists: #81-89"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/itunes-top-100-96-118\/itunes_image\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4029\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4029\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg 268w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-90x90.jpg 90w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s been 4 years since we last counted down the Top 200 artists in my iTunes library.\u00a0 Since my iTunes stats are still intact, across multiple PCs, iPods, iPads, and iPhones, I figured it was time to take another look at the artists that have entertained me the most based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>We continue today with the next batch of 10 artists, breaking past the 100 play plateau with the 2 remaining tied for 89th place, the single artist at 88, 2 tied for 86th, and the single artists at 85th through 81st.<\/p>\n<p>#89: Chance The Rapper<br \/>\niTunes stats: 93 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/itunes-top-200-artists-129-139\/\">#139<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Somehow the two clips from his intro video for the 2016 White Sox jumped 50 spots due to a 182% increase in plays over the last 4 years.<\/p>\n<p>#89: Roxette<br \/>\niTunes stats: 93 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/itunes-top-200-artists-91-97\/\">#95<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s second best selling musical act after Abba, the pop duo nearly doubled their listens while moving up 6 spots on the chart.<\/p>\n<p>#88: The Muffs<br \/>\niTunes stats: 94 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-61-70\/\">#70<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A big 18 spot drop for the band most well known for a Fruitopia commercial back in the day, thanks to a mere 32 new plays.<\/p>\n<p>#86: Soul Asylum<br \/>\niTunes stats: 97 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-81-88\/\">#88<\/a><\/p>\n<p>43 new listens for the Minneapolis-based band pushes them up 2 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>#86: Christina Aguilera<br \/>\niTunes stats: 97 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-81-88\/\">#84<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The former\u00a0<em>Voice<\/em>\u00a0star sees a 73% increase, enabling her to drop only 2 spots.<\/p>\n<p>#85: The Outfield<br \/>\n<!--more-->iTunes stats: 99 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/itunes-top-200-artists-50-60\/\">#54<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the only song in my collection being the walkup music for former White Sox infielder Gordon Beckham, the group added a mere 10 plays over the past 4 years.<\/p>\n<p>#84: Kermit the Frog<br \/>\niTunes stats: 102 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/itunes-top-200-artists-50-60\/\">#59<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s most favorite Muppet added just 24 new listens to the 7 tracks in my collection.<\/p>\n<p>#83: Bell Biv DeVoe<br \/>\niTunes stats: 103 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-71-79\/\">#76<\/a><\/p>\n<p>44 new listens for the former members of New Edition cause them to drop 7 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>#82: Neil Diamond<br \/>\niTunes stats: 105 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/itunes-top-200-artists-91-97\/\">#92<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 2011 inductee into the Rock &amp;
