{"id":16871,"date":"2021-04-05T04:31:08","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T10:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?p=16871"},"modified":"2021-01-16T11:02:51","modified_gmt":"2021-01-16T17:02:51","slug":"itunes-top-200-artists-89-98","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-89-98\/","title":{"rendered":"iTunes Top 200 Artists: #89-98"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/itunes-top-100-96-118\/itunes_image\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4029\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4029\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg 268w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-90x90.jpg 90w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s been 4 years since we last counted down the Top 200 artists in my iTunes library.\u00a0 Since my iTunes stats are still intact, across multiple PCs, iPods, iPads, and iPhones, I figured it was time to take another look at the artists that have entertained me the most based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>We kick off the second half of the countdown with today&#8217;s batch of 10 artists, the three tied for 98th place, 2 tied for 96th, the single artist at 95th through 92nd, and the first of 3 tied for 89th.<\/p>\n<p>#98: Gin Blossoms<br \/>\niTunes stats: 85 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/itunes-top-200-artists-81-88\/\">#84<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A slight 52% increase in plays for the 5 different tracks in my collection from the Arizona-based band leads to a 15 spot drop.<\/p>\n<p>#98: Smash Mouth<br \/>\niTunes stats: 85 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/itunes-top-200-artists-91-97\/\">#97<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The former ska band, who traded in their roots for a more pop sound, picked up 39\u00a0new listens to drop just a single slot.<\/p>\n<p>#98: Carpenters<br \/>\niTunes stats: 85 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/itunes-top-200-artists-129-139\/\">#129<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The king and queen of 70s soft rock raised their plays by 150% for the 6 separate tracks in my collection to jump 31 spots on the list.<\/p>\n<p>#96: Tommy James &amp;
