I likely have seen very few of these movies, so I will mostly be going on gut feel and word of mouth rather than personal experience.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Original Screenplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Taylor Sheridan,\u00a0<em>Hell or High Water<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Damien Chazelle,\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nYorgos Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou,\u00a0<em>The Lobster<\/em><br \/>\nKenneth Lonergan,\u00a0<em>Manchester By The Sea<\/em><br \/>\nMike Mills, <em>20th Century Women<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t seen any of these films yet, but\u00a0I do know that there is nothing Hollywood likes more than a love letter to Hollywood, which is pretty much what I&#8217;ve been led to believe\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em> is.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Adapted Screenplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Eric Heisserer,\u00a0<em>Arrival<\/em><br \/>\nAugust Wilson,\u00a0<em>Fences<\/em><br \/>\nAllison Schroeder and Theodore Melfi,\u00a0<em>Hidden Figures<\/em><br \/>\nLuke Davies,\u00a0<em>Lion<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney, <em>Moonlight<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another category where I have not seen any of the nominated work. I&#8217;m guessing,\u00a0based on very little, that\u00a0<em>Moonlight<\/em> will win this\u00a0one.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Animated Feature<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><i>Kubo and the Two Strings<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>Moana<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>My Life As A Zucchini<\/i><br \/>\n<strong><i>The Red Turtle<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Zootopia<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve only heard of two of these, neither of which I can see taking home an Oscar.\u00a0 So, I&#8217;m going out on a ledge here and going with <em>The Red Turtle<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Cinematography<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Bradford Young,\u00a0<em>Arrival<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Linus Sandgren,\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nGreig Fraser,\u00a0<em>Lion<\/em><br \/>\nJames Laxton,\u00a0<em>Moonlight<\/em><br \/>\nRodrigo Prieto, <em>Silence<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, again I&#8217;ve\u00a0seen none of these, so I will once again go with <em>La La Land<\/em>, though <em>Arrival<\/em> may be a strong contender.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Costume Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Joanna Johnston,\u00a0<em>Allied<\/em><br \/>\nColleen Atwood,\u00a0<em>Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them<\/em><br \/>\nConsolata Boyle,\u00a0<em>Florence Foster Jenkins<\/em><br \/>\nMadeline Fontaine,\u00a0<em>Jackie<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Mary Zophres, <em>La La Land<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another category where I&#8217;m at a loss, so I&#8217;ll stick with my theme so far and go with Mary Zophres for her work on <em>La La Land<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><!--more-->Best Documentary Feature<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><i>Fire At Sea<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><strong><i>I Am Not Your Negro<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>Life, Animated<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>O.J.: Made In America<\/i><br \/>\n<em>13th<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not really familiar with any of these, aside from the OJ one which was really a television miniseries, so\u00a0this is just a stab in the dark.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Documentary Short Subject<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><i>Extremis<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>4.1 Miles<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><strong><i>Joe&#8217;s Violin<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\n<i><\/i><i>Watani: My Homeland<\/i><br \/>\n<em>The White Helmets<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is a total guess for a category that I know nothing about.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Achievement in Film Editing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Joe Walker,\u00a0<em>Arrival<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nJohn Gilbert,\u00a0<em>Hacksaw Ridge<\/em><br \/>\nJake Roberts,\u00a0<em>Hell or High Water<\/em><br \/>\nTom Cross,\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em><br \/>\nNat Sanders and Joi\u00a0McMillon, <em>Moonlight<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Film editing seems like an award that a science fiction epic should win, so I&#8217;m going with Joe Walker.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best Foreign Language Film<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><i>Land of Mine<\/i>,\u00a0Denmark<br \/>\n<em>A Man Called Ove<\/em>,\u00a0Sweden<br \/>\n<strong><em>The Salesman<\/em>,\u00a0Iran<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Tanna<\/em>,\u00a0Australia<br \/>\n<em>Toni Erdmann<\/em>, Germany<\/p>\n<p>A group of films that I have never, and will never, see, so I&#8217;m picking one at random.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Love Larson and Eva von Bahr,\u00a0<em>A Man Called Ove<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nJoel Harlow and Richard Alonzo,\u00a0<em>Star Trek Beyond<\/em><br \/>\nAlessandro Bertolazzi, Giorgio Gregorini, and Christopher Nelson, <em>Suicide Squad<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The first category where I&#8217;ve seen not one, but two of the nominated films.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t want to live in a world where either <em>Star Trek Beyond<\/em> or <em>Suicide Squad<\/em> wins an Oscar, so that leaves me with one choice.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Jackie<\/em>,\u00a0Mica Levi<br \/>\n<strong><em>La La Land<\/em>,\u00a0Justin Hurwitz<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Lion<\/em>, Dustin O&#8217;Halloran and Hauschka<br \/>\n<em>Moonlight<\/em>,\u00a0Nicholas Britell<br \/>\n<em>Passengers<\/em>, Thomas Newman<\/p>\n<p>Back to guessing for this one, so I&#8217;m going again with <em>La La Land<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Audition (The Fools Who Dream)<\/em> from <em>La La Land<\/em>, Music by Justin Hurwitz, Lyric by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul<br \/>\n<em>Can&#8217;t Stop the Feeling!<\/em> from <em>Trolls<\/em>, Music and Lyric by Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, and Karl Johan Schuster (Shellback)<br \/>\n<em>City of Stars<\/em> from <em>La La Land<\/em>, Music by Justin Hurwitz, Lyric by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul<br \/>\n<em>The Empty Chair<\/em> from <em>Jim: The James Foley Story<\/em>, Music and Lyric by J.
