\"Emmy_statue\"<\/a>With the\u00a0Emmy Awards scheduled for Sunday night, here are my predictions for the\u00a0awards for Comedy shows.\u00a0 I most likely have seen most of these shows, so, unlike my annual Oscar predictions, I will not mostly be going on gut feel and word of mouth, but will have a somewhat informed decision.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Comedy<\/h3>\n

Black-ish<\/em><\/p>\n

Master of None<\/em><\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em><\/p>\n

Silicon Valley<\/em><\/p>\n

Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt<\/em><\/p>\n

Veep<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Veep<\/em>\u00a0won last year and would seem to be a good\u00a0choice to repeat, so I’ll go with that.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actress In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Ellie Kemper,\u00a0Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt<\/em><\/p>\n

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Laurie Metcalf,\u00a0Getting On<\/em><\/p>\n

Tracee Ellis Ross,\u00a0Black-ish<\/em><\/p>\n

Amy Schumer,\u00a0Inside Amy Schumer<\/em><\/p>\n

Lily Tomlin, Grace and Frankie<\/em><\/p>\n

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won this award the past three years, and I see no reason why she won’t repeat again this year.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Actor In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Anthony Anderson, Black-ish<\/em><\/p>\n

Aziz Ansari,\u00a0Master of None<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Will Forte,\u00a0The Last Man on Earth<\/em><\/p>\n

William H. Macy, Shameless<\/em><\/p>\n

Thomas Middleditch,\u00a0Silicon Valley<\/em><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Tambor,\u00a0Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Tambor brought home the award last year for his gender-bending role on Amazon’s hit series. \u00a0My guess is that Aziz Ansari rides the same wave of good feelings to take home the trophy for his Netflix series.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Anna Chlumsky, Veep<\/em><\/p>\n

Gaby Hoffman,\u00a0Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n

Allison Janney, Mom<\/em><\/p>\n

Judith Light,\u00a0Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n

Kate McKinnon, Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Niecy Nash,\u00a0Getting On<\/em><\/p>\n

I don’t have much of a strong feeling one way or the other, so I’m going with Kate McKinnon, whose star seems to be on the rise.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy<\/h3>\n

Louie Anderson,\u00a0Baskets<\/em><\/p>\n

Andre Braugher, Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tituss Burgess,\u00a0Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt<\/em><\/p>\n

Ty Burrell,<\/strong> Modern Family<\/em><\/p>\n

Tony Hale, Veep<\/em><\/p>\n

Keegan-Michael Key,\u00a0Key & Peele<\/em><\/p>\n

Matt Walsh,\u00a0Veep<\/em><\/p>\n

This is a tough one.\u00a0 The 2 Veep<\/em> stars are likely to cancel each other out, meaning Tony Hale won’t repeat.\u00a0 While I’d love for Tituss Burgess to win, I don’t see that happening.\u00a0 I’m going to go with Andre Braugher, who has won before for previous roles.<\/p>\n

Melissa McCarthy,\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/p>\n

Laurie Metcalf, The Big Bang Theory<\/em><\/p>\n

Amy Schumer, Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/p>\n

Sadly, I already know who won this award, so rather than pretend otherwise, I’ll go along with the Academy and give it to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for their co-hosting gig on SNL<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Larry David, Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/p>\n

Tracy Morgan, Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/p>\n

Martin Mull,\u00a0Veep<\/em><\/p>\n

Bob Newhart,\u00a0The Big Bang Theory<\/em><\/p>\n

Peter Scolari,\u00a0Girls<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bradley Whitford,\u00a0Transparent<\/em><\/p>\n
