\"old-tv-set1\"<\/a>It\u2019s Hump Day. Time to take a\u00a0look back<\/a>\u00a0at my thoughts on the midweek offerings for the fall season.<\/p>\n

7:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arrow<\/em> – After a stellar second season, Arrow returns for more angtsy fun.\u00a0 On tap for this season are DC stalwarts Ra’s Al Ghul and Ray Palmer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Considering the main character was killed in the winter finale last month, the show will have to jump through\u00a0a hoop or two to bring him back.<\/p>\n

The Mysteries of Laura<\/em> – Quite possibly the worst pilot I’ve seen ever. \u00a0What a waste of good talent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I did not go back for any future entries after having suffered through the pilot.<\/p>\n

8:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em> – The comedy, entering its sixth season, is starting to show its age.\u00a0 It’s still fun, but the plots are starting to get a little out there.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I think it is safe to say that we are much closer to the end of this shows run than we are to the beginning.<\/p>\n

Criminal Minds<\/em> – The show returns for its tenth season with a new team member, the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I don’t know what else there is to say about this show at this point.\u00a0 It is what it is.<\/p>\n

Red Band Society<\/em> – My initial instinct was to give this one a pass, but a few good reviews, plus an early premiere, made me decide to tune in.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was surprisingly entertaining, which means that FOX has gone ahead and cancelled it.\u00a0 There are 3 episodes left that are waiting to air, but no plans at this point to show them.<\/p>\n

9:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stalker<\/em> – I’m not too sure about this one either, but Kevin Williamson has provided some excellent entertainment in the past.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Certainly the most reviled show of the fall, as critics accused it of misogony, yet it keeps on ticking.<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s turn our attention to new and returning shows for Wednesday nights:<\/p>\n

The Americans<\/em> – The 80s based show about Russian spies that have infiltrated suburban Washington returns tonight for its third season.\u00a0 Hopefully the quality it reached in its first two seasons continues.<\/p>\n

Suits<\/em> – The show is entertaining, but, at some point, everyone on the show will learn the truth of where Mike Ross went to college.<\/p>\n

Broadchurch<\/em> – The British show, which was the template for FOX’s unfortunate Gracepoint<\/em>, returns to BBC America for a second season next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
