{"id":6079,"date":"2014-06-02T05:58:46","date_gmt":"2014-06-02T11:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?p=6079"},"modified":"2014-05-31T18:04:49","modified_gmt":"2014-06-01T00:04:49","slug":"you-ought-to-be-in-10-pictures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/you-ought-to-be-in-10-pictures\/","title":{"rendered":"You Ought To Be In (10) Pictures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Movie_Reel_22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6131\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Movie_Reel_22.jpg\" alt=\"Movie_Reel_22\" width=\"314\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Movie_Reel_22.jpg 314w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Movie_Reel_22-300x167.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/a>Many years ago, using the weekly TV guide that came with the Sunday Chicago Tribune, I started keeping track of all of the movies I had seen over the course of my lifetime. \u00a0The guide would list the two main stars for each movie, and that is a tradition that I&#8217;ve carried on in my database ever since. \u00a0So, given those guidelines, it is time to look at all of the actors that have starred in at least 10 films that I have seen, as of May 30th.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we start with the 14 actors that have starred in 10 movies that I have seen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amy Adams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was first introduced to Amy Adams back in 2001 via the direct-to-video sequel to <em>Cruel Intentions<\/em>.\u00a0 Things were quiet until 2008, when I saw her in <em>Enchanted<\/em>, which started a four year run with at least one film per year.\u00a0 2010 was big Amy Adams year for me, where she starred in 4 different movies that I saw that year.\u00a0 The last movie I saw featuring her was last year&#8217;s <em>Man of Steel<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Alba<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My first movie exposure to Jessica Alba was the 2000 indie thriller <em>Paranoid<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a02004 kicked off a 4 year run of at least one film per year.\u00a0 2009 was my high water mark in Jessica Alba films, when I saw 3 of them.\u00a0 Her run as Sue Storm in the <em>Fantastic\u00a0Four<\/em> franchise accounted for 2 of the 10 films.\u00a0 2010&#8217;s <em>Valentine&#8217;s Day<\/em>, which I saw in 2011, was the last film I saw starring Alba.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dan Aykroyd<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My first Dan Aykroyd film was likely 1984&#8217;s <em>Ghostbusters<\/em>.\u00a0 My best Aykroyd years were 1988 and 1996, when I saw 2 of his films in each year.\u00a0 2002 was the last year I saw an Aykroyd-starring vehicle, 200&#8217;s <em>Stardom<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chevy Chase<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Another <em>SNL<\/em> vet\u00a0on the list, Chase first entered my movie-watching universe in 1986 when I saw <em>Three Amigos!<\/em> in the theater.\u00a0 The <em>Vacation<\/em> franchise is responsible for\u00a040% of Chase&#8217;s total output here.\u00a0 The last Chevy Chase film I saw was in 2009, when I saw 1985&#8217;s <em>Fletch<\/em> for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jennifer Connelly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a 16 year old in the spring of 1991, I fell in love with Jennifer Connelly thanks to the ads for <em>Career Opportunities<\/em>, which is likely the first place I saw her.\u00a0 2000\u00a0was my most prolific Jennifer Connelly year, when I saw a whopping 2 movies starring her.\u00a0 2009 was the last time I saw one of her starring performances, in 2008&#8217;s <em>The Day The Earth Stood Still<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Billy Crystal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My first theatrical exposure to\u00a0Billy Crystal was probably 1987&#8217;s <em>Throw Mama From The Train<\/em>.\u00a0My biggest Crystal year was 1995, when I saw 3 of his starring roles.\u00a0 It has been 10 years since I&#8217;ve seen one of his films, the last being 2002&#8217;s <em>Analyze That<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zooey Deschanel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former indie darling Zooey Deschanel first entered my consciousness in 2005, when I saw her in <em>All The Real\u00a0Girls<\/em>.\u00a02008 kicked off\u00a0a 2 year run where I saw 7 of the 10 films that placed her on this list.\u00a0 I last saw one of her films in 2011, when I watched the 2007 release <em>The Good Life<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Ferrell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fourth SNL alum on this week&#8217;s list, Will Ferrell first\u00a0streaked on to the list\u00a0of film actors I&#8217;ve seen in 2003 with <em>Old School<\/em>.\u00a0 Since then, his appearances have been pretty consistent, with 2 3-year streaks over the past 11 years.\u00a0 The most recent film of his I&#8217;ve seen was 2012&#8217;s <em>The Campaign<\/em>, which I saw earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael J. Fox<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1983&#8217;s TV movie <em>High School USA<\/em> was probably my first movie experience with Michael J. Fox.\u00a0 The <em>Back to the Future<\/em> franchise made up 30% of Fox&#8217;s overall total.\u00a0 My last Michael J. Fox film was way back in 1996, when he starred in <em>The Frighteners<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Melissa Joan Hart<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Made-for-TV movies have been\u00a0very good for Melissa Joan Hart, and my\u00a0first film experience with her was 1996&#8217;s <em>Sabrina the Teenage Witch<\/em>, which served as a psuedo-pilot for the television series.\u00a0 This kicked off\u00a0a good 5-year run of at least one film per year.\u00a0 After a long layoff from films I have seen, she came back with movies in 2008 and 2011, which was the last time I&#8217;ve seen her in a film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I first saw\u00a0Nicole Kidman in 1993&#8217;s <em>My Life<\/em>.\u00a0 Since then, she has appeared in bursts, with lengthy layoffs in between.\u00a0 The last time I saw one of her films was in 2008, when I saw 2007&#8217;s <em>The Invasion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dennis Quaid<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My first\u00a0experience with Dennis\u00a0Quaid was\u00a0probably 1987&#8217;s <em>Innerspace<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0The 10 films of his I&#8217;ve seen have been quite evenly spaced over the\u00a027 years since.\u00a0\u00a0His last starring appearance on a screen in front of me was in 2009, when I saw 2008&#8217;s <em>Vantage Point<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Stiller<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben Stiller first entered my movie-watching consciousness in 1997, thanks to the previous year&#8217;s <em>Flirting With Disaster<\/em>.\u00a0 He put together a 4-year streak from 2001-2004.\u00a0 I last saw him in 2011, when I watched <em>Night At the Museum: Battle Of The Smithsonian<\/em> despite having never seen the first one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlize Theron<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2000 brought Charlize Theron&#8217;s starring roles into my life in a big way, when she debuted with 3 films in one year.\u00a0 She has been pretty consistent since, though she hasn&#8217;t been able to duplicate the multiple film blast she had that first year.\u00a0 My last theatrical experience with her was last year, when I watched 2011&#8217;s <em>Young Adult<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many years ago,
