\"old-tv-set1\"<\/a>It\u2019s Hump Day. Time to take a look back<\/a> at my thoughts on the midweek offerings for the fall season.<\/p>\n

7:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revolution<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 NBC\u2019s lone hit from last fall moves to Wednesdays. \u00a0This show struggled mightily once it returned from the winter hiatus, and it will need to start strong if I\u2019m going to stick around for long.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, this one didn’t even make it to the second season premiere.\u00a0 Once again, bad reviews and a need to clear room off the DVR helped me realize once again that life is too short to watch shows I am not really enjoying.<\/p>\n

Arrow<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Surprisingly, the CW kind of hit it out of the park with this tale of Green Arrow. \u00a0Season 2 will be offering an arc featuring Summer Glau, so I, for one, am excited to see where things go.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Arrow<\/em> has basically turned itself in to the anti-Smallville<\/em>, learning from the mistakes of its DC-based predecessor.<\/p>\n

8:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Criminal Minds<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Another show heading into its ninth season. \u00a0This one is getting a little tired, but it is still good more often than not.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No surprises here, but the show continues to be mostly entertaining.<\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 This continues to be a funny show, even if most of the characters have become caricatures of themselves at this point. \u00a0But that is to be expected in comedies entering their fifth season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The show continues to chug along, although puberty has not really been kind to the youngest member of the Dunphy clan.<\/p>\n

9:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nashville<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 A surprisingly entertaining show that took some wrong turns towards the end of last season. \u00a0I\u2019ll give it a shot to redeem itself this year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I had let the show pile up on the DVR and, by the time I went to watch it, the first few episodes had been auto-deleted due to space issues. \u00a0ABC’s odd OnDemand strategy didn’t give me a way to catch up on those episodes, so I ended up deleting the rest unwatched and have dropped off the Nashville<\/em> train.<\/p>\n

Ironside<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Blair Underwood stars in this remake of the Raymond Burr series about a police detective confined to a wheelchair. \u00a0I\u2019m not too sure about this one, as I tried watching the pilot and got halfway through it before stopping and never coming back to it. \u00a0If things are slow when it premieres, I may give it another shot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I never did get around to watching this, and neither did anybody else, based on the ratings.\u00a0 NBC managed to air 4 episodes before pulling the plug.<\/p>\n

Now, let’s turn our attention to new and returning shows for Wednesday nights:<\/p>\n

Suburgatory<\/i>\u00a0– After an uneven second season, the show returns with Tessa and George back to being outsiders in their strange little suburb.<\/p>\n

The Americans<\/em> – The second season kicks off at the end of February, with the Russians once again trying to spy on the Americans in the early 1980s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
