With the\u00a0Emmy Awards scheduled for Sunday night, here\u2019s day two of my predictions for the\u00a0awards, today focusing on reality shows and made for TV movies.\u00a0 I most likely have seen not seen most of these, so I will likely not have an informed decision, but when has that ever stopped me.<\/p>\n
Ryan Seacrest, American Idol<\/em><\/p>\n Betty White, Betty White\u2019s Off Their Rockers<\/em><\/p>\n Tom Bergeron, Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, Project Runway<\/em><\/p>\n Cat Deeley, So You Think You Can Dance<\/em><\/p>\n Anthony Bourdain, The Taste<\/em><\/p>\n Tom Bergeron won this last year, and that seems like as good a reason as any for him to win it again.<\/p>\n The Amazing Race<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/p>\n Project Runway<\/em><\/p>\n So You Think You Can Dance<\/em><\/p>\n Top Chef<\/em><\/p>\n The Voice<\/em><\/p>\n I think The Amazing Race<\/em> has won this every year its been on the air. \u00a0I see no reason for that streak to end now.<\/p>\n The Colbert Report<\/em><\/p>\n The Daily Show With Jon Stewart<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em><\/p>\n Late Night With Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/p>\n Real Time With Bill Maher<\/em><\/p>\n Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/p>\n Another perennial winner should continue to bring home the big prize, although I wonder if Jon Stewart’s extended absence this summer will hurt the show in the voter’s minds.<\/p>\n American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em><\/p>\n Behind the Candelabra<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The Bible<\/em><\/p>\n Phil Spector<\/em><\/p>\n Political Animals<\/em><\/p>\n Top of the Lake<\/em><\/p>\n Definitely some heavy hitters here, but I would expect HBO’s tale of Liberace’s love affair with a young boy toy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, to run away with this.<\/p>\n Jessica Lange, American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Laura Linney, The Big C: Hereafter<\/em><\/p>\n Helen Mirren, Phil Spector<\/em><\/p>\n Sigourney Weaver, Political Animals<\/em><\/p>\n Elisabeth Moss, Top of the Lake<\/em><\/p>\n While I would like to see Elisabeth Moss win for Top of the Lake<\/em>, I would expect Jessica Lange to bring home her second straight trophy for American Horror Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n Michael Douglas, Behind the Candelabra<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Matt Damon, Behind the Candelabra<\/em><\/p>\n Toby Jones, The Girl<\/em><\/p>\n Benedict Cumberbatch, Parade\u2019s End<\/em><\/p>\n Al Pacino, Phil Spector<\/em><\/p>\n To my mind, this really comes down to either Michael Douglas or Matt Damon. \u00a0I would expect Douglas to get the nod, especially given his recent bout with cancer.<\/p>\n Sarah Paulson, American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em><\/p>\n Imelda Staunton, The Girl<\/em><\/p>\n Ellen Burstyn, Political Animals<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Charlotte Rampling, Restless<\/em><\/p>\n Alfre Woodard, Steel Magnolias<\/em><\/p>\n Honestly, I don’t have much of an opinion here, so I’ll go with Ellen Burstyn.<\/p>\n James Cromwell, American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Zachary Quinto, American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em><\/p>\n Scott Bakula, Behind The Candelabra<\/em><\/p>\n John Benjamin Hickey, The Big C: Hereafter<\/em><\/p>\n Peter Mullan, Top of the Lake<\/em><\/p>\n Again, I don’t have any clue here as I haven’t really seen much of these, but I’ll go with James Cromwell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" With the\u00a0Emmy Awards scheduled for Sunday night, here\u2019s day two of my predictions for the\u00a0awards, today focusing on reality shows and made for TV movies.\u00a0 I most likely have seen not seen most of these, so I will likely not have an informed decision, but when has that ever stopped me.
