Amour<\/em><\/p>\n Argo<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Beasts of the Southern Wild<\/em><\/p>\n Django Unchained<\/em><\/p>\n Les Miserables<\/em><\/p>\n Life of Pi<\/em><\/p>\n Lincoln<\/em><\/p>\n Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/p>\n Zero Dark Thirty<\/em><\/p>\n The early money was on either Lincoln<\/em> or Zero Dark Thirty<\/em> taking home the big prize, but Argo<\/em> has been raking up Best Picture wins starting with the Golden Globes and has momentum on its side.<\/p>\n Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/p>\n Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Hugh Jackman, Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em><\/p>\n Joaquin Phoenix, The Master<\/em><\/p>\n Denzel Washington, Flight<\/em><\/p>\n While Lincoln<\/em> may have fallen out of favor in the Best Picture race, this is still Daniel Day-Lewis’ trophy to lose.<\/p>\n Jessica Chastain, Zero Dark Thirty<\/em><\/p>\n Jennifer Lawrence, Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Emmanuelle Riva, Amour<\/em><\/p>\n Quvenzhane Wallis, Beasts of the Southern Wild<\/em><\/p>\n Naomi Watts, The Impossible<\/em><\/p>\n In my mind, this comes down to Jessica Chastain or Jennifer Lawrence. Not having seen either performance, my gut tells me that the backlash against Zero Dark Thirty<\/em> hurts Chastain here and that Jennifer Lawrence brings home the Oscar.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Best Supporting Actor<\/strong><\/h3>\n Alan Arkin, Argo<\/em><\/p>\n Robert De Niro, Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/p>\n Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Master<\/em><\/p>\n Tommy Lee Jones, Lincoln<\/em><\/p>\n Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n My money’s on Christoph Waltz taking home this prize.<\/p>\n Amy Adams, The Master<\/em><\/p>\n Sally Field, Lincoln<\/em><\/p>\n Anne Hathaway, Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Helen Hunt, The Sessions<\/em><\/p>\n Jacki Weaver, Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/p>\n This is probably the easiest call of the night. Russell, Silver Linings Playbook<\/em><\/p>\n Steven Spielberg, Lincoln<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Benh Zeitlin, Beasts of the Southern Wild<\/em><\/p>\n Normally, Best Picture and Best Director go hand in hand, but with a potential 10 nominees for Best Picture and only 5 for Best Director, you occassionally see a situation where the director of the presumptive Best Picture winner, in this case Ben Affleck, is not even nominated for Best Director.
