It’s Hump Day. \u00a0Time to take a look at the midweek offerings for the new fall season.<\/p>\n

7:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Animal Practice<\/em> – When the best thing about your pilot episode is the monkey that played Annie’s Boobs on Community<\/em>, that’s a good sign that your show is in trouble. \u00a0When you keep cutting to the monkey because you know it’s the best thing about your pilot, that’s just sad. \u00a0There is some promise here with Justin Kirk and JoAnna Garcia, but I don’t plan to stick around in the off chance they find it.<\/p>\n

Arrow<\/em> – The CW tries to give the Smallville<\/em> treatment to Green Arrow. \u00a0I’m willing to give it a shot and hope for the best.<\/p>\n

7:30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Guys With Kids<\/em> – Having watched the first episode, which premiered last week, I can only say that this feels like a comedy that could have been on 20 years ago. \u00a0And that is not a compliment.<\/p>\n

The Neighbors<\/em> – I only saw a brief clip of this show, but it was enough to tell me that I am not the target audience for this show. \u00a0I’m not even sure who that target audience may be.<\/p>\n

8:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Criminal Minds<\/em> – Jeanne Tripplehorn joins the team for season 8, replacing the departing Paget Brewster.<\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em> – The family is expanding, as last season ended with Gloria revealing she is pregnant. \u00a0This continues to be a consistently funny show.<\/p>\n

Supernatural<\/em> – Entering its 8th season, the show is starting to feel a little tired. \u00a0Hopefully a change in EP will shake things up a bit and breath a little more life into it.<\/p>\n

8:30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Suburgatory<\/em> – Another quirky hit from last season’s crop of new shows returns with the promise of introducing us to Tessa’s mom.<\/p>\n

9:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nashville<\/em> – While a musical set in the country music world would not normally be something that interested me, the team of Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere does have me intrigued enough to give it a shot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
