\"\"<\/a>It is time once again to take a look at the authors I have read the most, dating back to high school.\u00a0 This year, I\u2019m once again on pace to set a new record for books read in a year, so I thought it would be nice to take a deeper dive into those books I\u2019ve read through August of this year. Since our last check-in, I\u2019ve read an additional 114 books, so there should be some movement over the past two years.\u00a0 Without further ado, it\u2019s time to take another look and see if my \u201cfavorite\u201d authors have changed much over the years.\u00a0 We continue today with the fourteen authors I\u2019ve read two times, up four from two years ago.<\/p>\n

Scott Adams<\/strong><\/p>\n

The now-cancelled creator of\u00a0Dilbert<\/em>, who can\u2019t seem to help himself from spouting racist takes on Twitter, Adams used his famous character to write a number of humorous business books, the most recent of which I read in 2012.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Suzanne Collins<\/strong><\/p>\n

A return to the world of the Hunger Games brought Collins back to my reading list in 2024.<\/p>\n

James Ellroy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The author of the L.A. Quartet, which I finished off with\u00a0The Big Nowhere<\/em>\u00a0in 2014.<\/p>\n

Gillian Flynn<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/em> writer turned into one of my favorite authors, though she still hasn\u2019t written a new full-length work since 2012\u2019s Gone Girl<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Book of Lost and Found – Lucy Foley<\/p><\/div>\n

Lucy Foley<\/strong><\/p>\n

A recent favorite, Foley, a New York Times<\/em> best seller, has shown up annually since 2021 until this year, although there are still five months to go.<\/p>\n

Diana G. Gallagher<\/strong><\/p>\n

The author, who passed away in 2021, can credit the world of\u00a0Buffy the Vampire Slayer\u00a0<\/em>for all four of her entries, the most recent of which I read in 2011.<\/p>\n

Lee Goldberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

A writer for the Monk<\/em> television series who went on to pen a series of tie-in novels about the show.<\/p>\n

Megan Goldin<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former Reuters correspondent first appeared on my radar in 2021 with her debut,\u00a0The Escape Room<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Blue Hour – Paula Hawkins<\/p><\/div>\n

Paula Hawkins<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span>The best-selling author of\u00a0The Girl on the Train<\/em>, her latest novel was released last year and read in early 2025.<\/p>\n

Greer Hendricks<\/strong><\/p>\n

After spending two decades as an editor at Simon & Schuster, she has teamed up with Sarah Pekkanen for four novels, which I\u2019ve read one annually starting in 2020 until this year.<\/p>\n

Grady Hendrix<\/strong><\/p>\n

Winner of a 2018 Bram Stoker Award, the horror novelist debuted on my reading list with The Final Girl Support Group<\/em>\u00a0in 2021.<\/p>\n

Carrie Soto Is Back – Taylor Jenkins Reid<\/p><\/div>\n

Taylor Jenkins-Reid<\/strong><\/p>\n

I first came her work thanks to her smash Daisy Jones & The Six<\/em>.\u00a0 Her latest is currently on my waitlist at the library, so she will continue to move up this list.<\/p>\n

Minka Kent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two new reads in 2024, The Stillwater Girls<\/em> and Unmissing<\/em>, push her up this list.<\/p>\n

John Vornholt<\/strong><\/p>\n
