This week, we head to the suburbs of Atlanta to take a look at the latest home of the Atlanta Braves.\u00a0 So, without further ado, let\u2019s take a deeper look at my one game history with Truist Park.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/truist.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18176\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/truist.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"656\" height=\"492\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/truist.jpg 656w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/truist-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 656px) 100vw, 656px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stadium Name:<\/strong> Truist Park<\/p>\n<p><strong>Years in Service:<\/strong> 2017 \u2013 Present<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visits:<\/strong>\u00a01<\/p>\n<p>In November of 2013, the Braves announced that they would be leaving their longtime home of Turner Field for a new stadium, opening in 2017.\u00a0 Originally known as SunTrust Park, the stadium hosted its first regular season game on April 14, as the Braves battled the Padres.\u00a0 The name changed to Truist Park in 2020 following a merger between SunTrust Banks and BB&amp;T.<\/p>\n<p>I made my first and only visit to Truist Park in 2021 while driving home from a trip to Florida.\u00a0 The Braves were scheduled to battle the Yankees that night, so I decided to make an early stop on the drive home to take in another stadium.\u00a0 My hotel claimed to be within walking distance of the stadium, which it was but they forgot to mention that it was all uphill.\u00a0 After I managed to drag myself to the park, I headed to the upper deck, which were the only seats still available.\u00a0 After snagging a couple souvenir cups, I left the game a little early for the hike back to the hotel.\u00a0 Thankfully, that trip was all downhill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/bravesfield.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22133\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/bravesfield.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"687\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/bravesfield.jpg 687w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/bravesfield-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stadium Name:<\/strong> Braves Field<\/p>\n<p><strong>Years in Service:<\/strong> 1915 \u2013 1952<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visits:<\/strong> 0 (or a handful, depending on your point of view)<\/p>\n<p>From 1876 until 1952, the Braves made their home in Boston.\u00a0 When they moved west to Milwaukee prior to the 1953 season, the stadium was purchased by Boston University.\u00a0 The pavilion grandstand at the end of the right field line was retained as the seating core of a football, soccer, field hockey, and track-and-field stadium, as was the outer wall.\u00a0 The stadium&#8217;s ticket office was converted into the school&#8217;s police station. The rest of the stadium structure was replaced by dormitories covering the former main grandstand; and the Case Physical Education Center, which houses Walter Brown Arena, home of the synchronized skating team.<\/p>\n<p>Now known as Nickerson Field, I&#8217;ve made a few visits while in Boston to visit Angelina over the years and to see her skate at Walter Brown Arena.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the offseason well underway, we continue our tour of all of the different baseball stadiums I\u2019ve been to over the years.
