sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/>After two years of limited travel due to COVID, things opened up once again in 2022 and I actually found myself on an airplane or two throughout the year.\u00a0 I thought it would be nice to look back at the trips I took this year.\u00a0 Things started in late January, when I went to Hawaii for two weeks.\u00a0 Things were still pretty locked down on the islands at the time, so I didn&#8217;t do a lot of activities, but a week relaxation at the beach and the pool followed by a second week of working remotely followed by afternoons at the beach did the body (and the mind) good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2023cover.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-19588 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2023cover-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2023cover-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2023cover-600x400.jpg 600w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2023cover.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The next trip came at the end of May, as the family headed to Boston for Angelina&#8217;s graduation.\u00a0 The boys and I arrived late Friday night, where we basically went straight from the airport to the hotel to sleep.\u00a0 On Saturday, we did some sight-seeing.\u00a0 Sunday was graduation, followed by a celebratory dinner.\u00a0 We all headed home on Monday, save Angelina.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19248 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/coorsfield-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/coorsfield-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/coorsfield-600x400.jpg 600w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/coorsfield.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>At the end of July, I headed out to Denver for a quick trip to add a new stadium to my collection.\u00a0 I arrived on Tuesday and high-tailed it out to Coors Field for that evening&#8217;s game, which the White Sox won against the hometown Rockies.\u00a0 The follow-up the next afternoon was not as pleasant, after which I headed back to the airport for the flight home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/troopers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-19816 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/troopers-223x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/troopers-223x300.jpg 223w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/troopers.jpg 352w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>August brought a road trip to Indianapolis, to see Danny perform with the Troopers drum corps at the DCI World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium.\u00a0 What was supposed to be a two-night stay turned into three, when the Troopers unexpectedly made it to the finals.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/purdue_vball.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19817 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/purdue_vball-300x257.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/purdue_vball-300x257.jpg 300w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/purdue_vball-768x658.jpg 768w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/purdue_vball.jpg 788w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>September brought a couple of return trips to Indiana, specifically West Lafayette.\u00a0 The month started with a Thursday night football game against Penn State, which should have been a victory for the Boilermakers.\u00a0 The following day, I met Danny for breakfast before an early volleyball game.\u00a0 A few weeks later, I returned to Purdue with my mother for another football night game, this time against Florida Atlantic.<\/p>\n<p>My next, and final, trip of the year came the first weekend of November, when I travelled back to Boston to celebrate birthdays with Angelina.\u00a0 We spent most of Saturday together, going to the Museum of Science and then dinner at Fogo de Chao.\u00a0 I then flew home the following morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After two years of limited travel due to COVID,
