\"itunes_image\"<\/a>We last counted down the Top 200 albums in my iTunes library four years ago. Since that time, the world has literally changed, and my commute has decreased from 1+ hours each way to 25 steps. So, despite the decrease in potential listening time, I figured it was time to take another look, based on number of plays from late 2007 through the morning of January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n

Well, it all comes down to this: the top ten.\u00a0 We finish things off today with the ten albums I have listened to the most over the last 15 years. including three comedy albums, three compilations, two soundtracks, one greatest hits package, and one bootleg live performance.<\/p>\n

#10: Various Artists \u2013 Television\u2019s Greatest Hits, Vol. 3 (70\u2019s & 80\u2019s)<\/em>

\nPrevious Ranking: 13<\/a><\/p>\n

Another collection of TV theme songs, this time covering the late 70s and the early 80s, uses 32 songs, from shows such as\u00a0The Facts of Life<\/em>,\u00a0Inspector Gadget<\/em>, and\u00a0Barney Miller<\/em>, sees an 85% increase over the past four years.<\/p>\n

\niTunes stats: 378 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 17<\/a><\/p>\n

The audio rip of the band\u2019s live video release, featuring 21 different tracks, jumps up eight spots after more than doubling its number of plays in the past four years.<\/p>\n

#8: George Carlin \u2013 It\u2019s Bad For Ya<\/em>
\niTunes stats: 391 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 24<\/a><\/p>\n

The final album from George Carlin, released just over a month after his death, increases its total by over 144%, thanks in part to being used as a sleeping aid when I’m away from home.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>#7: Patton Oswalt \u2013 Werewolves and Lollipops<\/em>
\niTunes stats: 395 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 10<\/a><\/p>\n

An 85% increase for Patton Oswalt’s second comedy album, which would be significantly higher if I were to ever sync my old iPhone 4s, which I use to lull myself to sleep at home, again.<\/p>\n

#6: Various Artists \u2013 Living in the 90’s<\/em>
\niTunes stats: 396 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 8<\/a><\/p>\n

A whopping 22 songs, from bands like The Proclaimers, EMF, and Roxette, racked up an additional 172 new listens for this compilation of early 90s hits.<\/p>\n

#5: Various Artists \u2013 Billboard’s Top Rock ‘n’ Roll Hits: 1969<\/em>
\niTunes stats: 400 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 3<\/a><\/p>\n

Eight of the ten songs on this album contributed to this total, with the vast majority coming from Steam thanks to its connection with the White Sox.<\/p>\n

#4: Aerosmith \u2013 O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits
\n<\/em>iTunes stats: 416 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 4<\/a><\/p>\n

A nearly 59% increase for this two-disc greatest hits package which includes 22 hits from both of Aerosmith\u2019s periods of relevance.<\/p>\n

#3: Various Artists \u2013\u00a0The Muppets
\n<\/em>iTunes stats: 346 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 2<\/a><\/p>\n

A relatively small 39% increase the soundtrack album from the big Muppets comeback movie in 2011.<\/p>\n

#2: The Cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Once More, With Feeling<\/em>
\niTunes stats: 607 plays
\nPrevious Ranking: 1<\/a><\/p>\n

The soundtrack album to the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em> finally relinquishes the top spot, despite increasing its total by nearly 40%.<\/p>\n

\nPrevious Ranking: 6<\/a><\/p>\n
