Since my iTunes stats are still intact, across multiple PCs, iPods, iPads, and iPhones, I figured it was time to take another look at the artists that have entertained me the most based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Widely known for his stand-up performances, the\u00a0sketch comedy\u00a0series\u00a0<i>Mr. Show<\/i>, and his role as\u00a0Tobias F\u00fcnke\u00a0in\u00a0<i>Arrested Development<\/i>, David Cross checks in today, at #9 as we continue with the top 10.\u00a0 Cross began performing stand up comedy at 17, eventually becoming part of the Boston comedy scene after dropping out of Emerson College.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/cross.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17405\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/cross.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/cross.jpg 640w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/cross-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/cross-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>#9:\u00a0David Cross<br \/>\niTunes stats: 567 plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/itunes-top-200-artists-11-20\/\">#11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Funnyman David Cross saw an 86% increase to his total number of listens, thanks in part to the addition of a new stand-up album, which allowed him to move up two spots on the rankings.\u00a0 Encompassing 52 tracks from 4 different comedy albums, he is averaging just about 11 listens per track.\u00a0 The first one,\u00a0<i>Shut Up, You Fucking Baby!<\/i>, was released in 2002 and covered the post-9\/11 world that we found ourselves in.\u00a0 The most recent, <em>&#8230;America&#8230;Great&#8230;<\/em>, came out in 2016, and looked at the world that gave us Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been 4 years since we last counted down the Top 200 artists in my iTunes library.
