Many years ago, using the weekly TV guide that came with the Sunday Chicago Tribune, I started keeping track of all of the movies I had seen over the course of my lifetime. \u00a0The guide would list the two main stars for each movie, and that is a tradition that I’ve carried on in my database ever since. \u00a0So, given those guidelines, and thanks to a corona virus inspired uptick to my movie watching this year, it is time to look at the 100 actors that have starred in at least 10 films that I have seen, as of July 1.<\/p>\n

Today, we continue with the 9 actors that have starred in 15 movies that I have seen, an increase of 4 at this level from\u00a03 years ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anne Hathaway<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like most of America, I first saw Anne Hathaway on the silver screen back in 2003 in\u00a0The Princess Diaries<\/em>. \u00a0In the intervening 11 years, she has been a steadfast presence on my movie (or television) screen, including 3 films in 2005 and 4 in 2009.\u00a0 She’s moved up 2 spots in the past 3 years,\u00a0with her latest appearance being 2019’s The Hustle<\/em>, which I saw earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Angelina Jolie<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her last appearance on my screen is still in 2012, when I saw her in Changeling<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Steve Martin<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last starring role of his that I saw remains 2005’s Shopgirl<\/em>, which I saw in 2009.<\/p>\n

Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1994, I saw a little film called\u00a0Kalifornia<\/em>, which introduced me to Brad Pitt. \u00a0While he would become a mega-star over the next few years, I was a bit of a late comer to his films. \u00a0Other than watching\u00a0A River Runs Through It<\/em>\u00a0in 1997 during the Sports in Literature class I took during my last semester of college, it was 2000 before I saw another Pitt film. \u00a0Making up for lost time, I plowed through 3 films in 2000.\u00a0 He had a 4 year streak between in 2010 and 2013, then entered a dry spell that ended this year, when I saw him in both Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood<\/em> and Ad Astra<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Natalie Portman<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first starring roles of Natalie Portman\u2019s that I saw were in 2001, when I watched a double feature of\u00a0Where The Heart Is<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Anywhere But Here<\/em>. \u00a0Her appearances in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the Thor franchise have accounted for nearly 27% of her overall total. \u00a02011 was a big Portman year for me, as I saw a whopping 4 of her films. \u00a0My last experience with her work was last year\u2019s\u00a0Lucy In The Sky<\/em>, which I watched earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Will Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will Smith\u2019s transition from rapper to TV star to movie star began with 1995\u2019s\u00a0Bad Boys<\/em>.\u00a0 The following two year, he cemented himself as a huge star with the double feature of\u00a0Independence Day<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Men In Black<\/em>. \u00a0The\u00a0Bad Boys\u00a0and\u00a0Men In Black\u00a0franchises have made up over 33% of his total movies that I\u2019ve seen.\u00a0 My most recent exposure to his work came earlier this year in 2019’s Gemini Man<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Mark Wahlberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former leader of the Funky Bunch first moved over to movies with\u00a0Fear<\/em>, in which he costarred with the another star at this level, in 1996. \u00a0There have been 4 years since where I have seen multiple Wahlberg flicks, most recently in 2018.\u00a0 The last film of his that I saw was the second of those 2018 flicks, 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Robin Williams<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seeing as he is no longer walking the Earth, 2008 is still both my\u00a0biggest Williams year and my last time seeing his films, thanks to Jack<\/em>, License To Wed<\/em>, and The Night Listener<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Reese Witherspoon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reese Witherspoon crashed in to my movie going consciousness in 1996 with two entries, the aforementioned\u00a0Fear<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Freeway<\/em>. \u00a0A 6 year streak started in 1999 and finished in 2004 with the sequel to\u00a0Legally Blonde<\/em>.\u00a0 She moves up 2 spots, with the last time I saw one of her films coming earlier this year, when I watched 2017\u2019s\u00a0Home Again<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
