\"old-tv-set1\"<\/a>We have reached\u00a0the half way point of our look back<\/a> at the offerings for the new fall season. \u00a0Here’s my thoughts on what Wednesdays had on tap.<\/p>\n

7:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Riverdale <\/em>– The sexy version of the Archie comics returns for its second season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I mean, there’s really no particular reason for this show to exist, but it is a decent way to pass the time.<\/p>\n

The Blacklist <\/em>– Now that the mystery of Red’s relationship to Liz has been cleared up, things promise to take a lighter tone in season 5.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I have a feeling we may be seeing the end for The Blacklist<\/em> sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

8:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

Modern Family<\/em> – The comedy, entering its ninth season, is really starting to show its age.\u00a0 It’s still fun, but the plots are starting to get a little out there.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ridiculous is still the name of the game, but there is still entertainment to be had.<\/p>\n

SEAL Team<\/i> – David Boreanaz returns to television mere months after the end of Bones<\/em> in what is likely to be another CBS procedural.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If it weren’t for Boreanaz, I wouldn’t bother.<\/p>\n

9:00<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Designated Survivor\u00a0<\/i>– The end of season one still sits on the DVR, mostly due to a missed episode, so who knows when I’ll get around to catching up and diving in to season 2.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No change on this front.<\/p>\n

Criminal Minds<\/em> – The show returns, at a later hour, for its 13th season, picking up with the car accident that ended last season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The writers keep coming up with exciting ways to kill and maim.<\/p>\n

Now, for new entries that will be hitting the screen this winter:<\/p>\n

The X-Files<\/em> – The second revival season got off to a horrendous start and has nowhere to go but up.<\/p>\n

Grown-ish<\/em> – The Black-ish<\/em> spin-off has landed on the ridiculously named Freeform.<\/p>\n
