{"id":1273,"date":"2012-02-14T06:47:26","date_gmt":"2012-02-14T12:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?p=1273"},"modified":"2012-02-12T17:19:05","modified_gmt":"2012-02-12T23:19:05","slug":"things-i-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/things-i-love\/","title":{"rendered":"Things I Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In honor of Valentine&#8217;s Day, here are some things I love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/community.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1274 aligncenter\" title=\"community\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/community.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/community.jpg 550w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/community-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Community has been off the air for a few months now, and I still miss it every Thursday night when it isn&#8217;t on.\u00a0 I understand that people\u00a0have a problem following a sitcom that doesn&#8217;t follow the normal tropes of the genre, but that doesn&#8217;t make it any easier to take when NBC continues to air the likes of Whitney, the silly Chelsea Handler show, and Grimm.\u00a0 The cast is phenomenal, especially Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, and Alison Brie.\u00a0 Speaking of whom&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/53008403867566724782.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1276\" title=\"53008403867566724782\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/53008403867566724782.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"594\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/53008403867566724782.jpg 396w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/53008403867566724782-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Aside from her role on Community, Alison Brie also appears on Mad Men and made a big screen appearance last year in Scream 4.\u00a0 <!--more-->Besides her obvious good looks, she is exceptionally funny, as displayed during her June 2010 appearance on the Nerdist podcast, which introduced me to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nerdist.com\/category\/podcast\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1277\" title=\"imagesizer\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/imagesizer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/imagesizer.jpg 625w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/imagesizer-300x96.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chris Hardwick, Jonah Ray, and Matt Mira host the Nerdist podcast.\u00a0 I was vaguely aware of Chris from his previous life as host of the MTV dating show Singled Out, but was unaware of his comedy or interest in nerdy things.\u00a0 As I&#8217;ve listened to the podcast over the last year and a half, and watched their occassional television specials on BBC America,\u00a0I feel like I&#8217;ve come to know all three, and hope to see their live show when it hits Chicago in April.\u00a0 One day I will watch Dr. Who, and it will be because of this podcast.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In honor of Valentine&#8217;s Day, here are some things I love.
