Tadahito Iguchi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12230\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12230\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12230\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/iguchi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/iguchi.jpg 450w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/iguchi-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Name:<\/strong>\u00a0Tadahito Iguchi<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rank:<\/strong> 31<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position:<\/strong>\u00a02B<\/p>\n<p><strong>Years With White Sox:<\/strong>\u00a02005-2007<\/p>\n<p>After an impressive career in the Japanese league, Tadahito Iguchi signed with the White Sox prior to the 2005 season. \u00a0As a 30 year old rookie, the second baseman locked down the #2 spot in the batting order, hitting .278 with 15 home runs. \u00a0The personal highlight of his season came in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Red Sox, hitting a 3 run homer off of David Wells to give the White Sox the lead. \u00a0Later that month, when the White Sox won their first title in 88 years, he became the first Japanese-born position player to win a World Series. \u00a0His numbers earned him fourth place in the Rookie of the Year voting.<\/p>\n<p>2006 was an even more impressive year for Iguchi. \u00a0He made his mark on defense, going horizontal to make a tremendous play against the Blue Jays on April 15. \u00a0Offensively, he shined on June 25, hitting a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 8th to cut the Astros lead to 4 and then smacking a grand slam in the 9th to send the game to extra innings. \u00a0He finished the year with a .281 average, 18 home runs, and 67 RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>2007 was a rough year for both Iguchi and the White Sox. \u00a0After signing a contract extension, he struggled as the White Sox fell to 4th in the AL Central, losing 90 games for the first time since 1989. \u00a0Iguchi&#8217;s average dropped to .251 with only 6 home runs. \u00a0With the White Sox not going anywhere, they traded Iguchi to the Philles on July 27 for a busted prospect.<\/p>\n<p>Iguchi&#8217;s\u00a0numbers in a White Sox uniform, both for games I attended and overall, were:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" bgcolor=\"#ffffff\">\n<caption><b>Career Batting<\/b><\/caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th bgcolor=\"#c0c0c0\"><span style=\"color: #000000;
