\"\"<\/a>3 years ago, we first counted down the then Top 100 artists in my iTunes library.\u00a0 Since that time, I\u2019ve successfully managed to migrate my music collection to a new PC with the stats intact.\u00a0 So, I figured it was time to take another look, expanding out the field to the top 200 artists, based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2017.<\/p>\n

In our penultimate trip through the chart, we\u00a0crack the top 20 and hit some of the more popular bands and musicians on my phone..<\/p>\n

#20:\u00a0Nirvana
\niTunes stats:\u00a0211\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #20<\/a><\/p>\n

97 new listens to the same 19 songs from the grunge masters enable them to stay\u00a0even at #20.<\/p>\n

#19: Bon Jovi
\niTunes stats:\u00a0214\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #21<\/a><\/p>\n

The boys from New Jersey have racked up 101 new listens, including 5 new songs, to raise 2 slots in the rankings.<\/p>\n

#18:\u00a0Eminem
\niTunes stats: 215\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #14<\/a><\/p>\n

The same 16 tunes provided only 79 new listens, causing the Detroit rapper to fall 4 slots from 3 years ago.<\/p>\n

\nPrevious ranking: #27<\/a><\/p>\n

One additional song, plus a trip to Graceland<\/a>, helped the King of Rock & Roll more than double his total from 3 years ago and leap 10 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n

#16: Poison

\nPrevious ranking: #13<\/a><\/p>\n

30 tracks, 2 more than\u00a03 years ago, accounted for their 99 additional listens, causing the quintessential glam rock band\u00a0to drop 3 slots.<\/p>\n

#15: Def Leppard
\niTunes stats:\u00a0255\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #15<\/a><\/p>\n

The troubled band from Sheffield used 36 songs to increase their total by 122, enabling them to retain their ranking from 3 years ago.<\/p>\n

#14:\u00a0The Lonely Island
\niTunes stats:\u00a0272\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #6<\/a><\/p>\n

The smallest increase in listens in the top 25 causes the comedy troupe to drop 8 spots and out of the top 10.<\/p>\n

#13: Aerosmith

\nPrevious ranking: #10<\/a><\/p>\n

30 tunes, up 2 from 3 years ago, added 117 new listens to the Toxic Twins and their bandmates who I saw in concert all the way back in 1994.<\/p>\n

\nPrevious ranking: #7<\/a><\/p>\n

An even 100 additional listens for the local band headed up by the guy who sits across from me at work causes them to drop 5 spots.<\/p>\n

#11:\u00a0David Cross

\nPrevious ranking: #12<\/a><\/p>\n

Funnyman David Cross nearly doubled his total number of listens, good enough to move up one spot on the rankings.<\/p>\n
