\"\"<\/a>3 years ago, we first counted down the then Top 100 artists in my iTunes library.\u00a0 Since that time, I\u2019ve successfully managed to migrate my music collection to a new PC with the stats intact.\u00a0 So, I figured it was time to take another look, expanding out the field to the top 200 artists, based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2017.<\/p>\n

We continue today with the 10 performers who have combined for 1816 listens over the past 10 years.<\/p>\n

#30:\u00a0Klaus Badelt
\niTunes stats: 161\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #16<\/a><\/p>\n

The composer dropped 14 spots in the rankings due to the White Sox no longer using his theme from Pirates of the Caribbean<\/em> as part of their pre-game routine.<\/p>\n

#29: Steam
\niTunes stats:\u00a0164\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #24<\/a><\/p>\n

Another casualty of the White Sox victory playlist getting fewer plays over the last few years, Steam drops 5 spots in the rankings due to only 54 additional plays.<\/p>\n

#28:\u00a0Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers
\niTunes stats: 173\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #19<\/a><\/p>\n

The novelty band responsible for the White Sox rally song from 1959 added 55 listens in the past 3 years, causing them to drop 9 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n

#27:\u00a0Green Day
\niTunes stats: 174\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #30<\/a><\/p>\n

The west coast punk rockers added 77 listens from their 18 songs to jump 3 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n

#26: Veruca Salt
\niTunes stats: 175\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #18<\/a><\/p>\n

The girls from Chicago used 13 songs to increase their plays by 51, causing them to drop 8 spots.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>#24: Stone Temple Pilots
\niTunes stats: 182\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #35<\/a><\/p>\n

A 10 spot jump in the rankings, thanks to 100 new listens spurred on partially due to the death<\/a> of singer Scott Weiland in December of 2015.<\/p>\n

#24:\u00a0Liz Phair
\niTunes stats: 182\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #28<\/a><\/p>\n

The former local indie darling added 84 new listens to jump up 4 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n

#23:\u00a0Weezer
\niTunes stats: 197\u00a0plays
\nPrevious ranking: #17<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite 2 additional songs,\u00a0up to 19, and 70 new listens, tied for fewest in the top 25,\u00a0the band dropped 6 spots in the\u00a0rankings.<\/p>\n

#22:\u00a0R.E.M.

\nPrevious ranking: #31<\/a><\/p>\n

The boys from Athens, Georgia more than doubled their plays over the past 3 years, enabling them to jump 8 spots.<\/p>\n

#21:\u00a0Alanis Morissette

\nPrevious ranking: #25<\/a><\/p>\n

The Canadian songstress, who I saw in 1996 at the New World Music Theater, added 99 new listens to jump up 4 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n
