{"id":11696,"date":"2017-05-22T03:28:33","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T09:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/?p=11696"},"modified":"2017-01-15T14:56:56","modified_gmt":"2017-01-15T20:56:56","slug":"itunes-top-200-artists-31-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/itunes-top-200-artists-31-40\/","title":{"rendered":"iTunes Top 200 Artists: #31-40"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/itunes-top-100-96-118\/itunes_image\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4029\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4029\" src=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image.jpg 268w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/itunes_image-90x90.jpg 90w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a>3 years ago, we first counted down the then Top 100 artists in my iTunes library.\u00a0 Since that time, I\u2019ve successfully managed to migrate my music collection to a new PC with the stats intact.\u00a0 So, I figured it was time to take another look, expanding out the field to the top 200 artists, based on number of plays from late 2007 through January 1, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Today we look at the\u00a0next batch of artists, numbers 31-40, which includes a nice mix of musical genres.<\/p>\n<p>#40:\u00a0Tori\u00a0Amos<br \/>\niTunes stats: 128\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/31-40\/\">#40<\/a><\/p>\n<p>56 new listens for the same 11 songs over the past 3 years enable the singer\/songwriter, who I was supposed to see live back in 1998 but missed due to a friend&#8217;s wedding, retain her position at #40.<\/p>\n<p>#39: Harry Caray<br \/>\niTunes stats:\u00a0129\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/42-50\/\">#44<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The legendary broadcaster moves up 5 spots in the rankings due to his 2 versions of <em>Take Me Out To The Ballgame<\/em>, one for the White Sox and one for the Cubs.<\/p>\n<p>#38:\u00a0Purdue All-American Marching Band<br \/>\niTunes stats: 135\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/31-40\/\">#34<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The marching band for my alma mater drops 4 spots in the rankings due to only 49 new listens.<\/p>\n<p>#37:\u00a0No Doubt<br \/>\niTunes stats: 136\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/42-50\/\">#42<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to 3 new songs and 65 new listens, the ska band I saw back in college before they hit it big jumps 5 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>#35: Queen<br \/>\niTunes stats: 148\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/itunes-top-100-artists-21-30\/\">#22<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A big 13 spot drop for the band from England due mostly to their dropping off the White Sox victory playlist now more than 10 years removed from their 2005 World Series title.<\/p>\n<p>#35: Metallica<br \/>\niTunes stats: 148\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/31-40\/\">#38<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The one-time masters of metal manage to go up 3 spots in the rankings thanks to 69 new listens, despite Paul Konerko dropping them as his at bat music shortly before retiring.<\/p>\n<p>#33:\u00a0The Monkees<br \/>\n<!--more-->iTunes stats: 149\u00a0plays<br \/>\nPrevious ranking: <a href=\"http:\/\/learningturkey.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/31-40\/\">#31<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The made-for-TV band increased their song title by 2 to 19 and their listens by 54, dropping them\u00a02 spots in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>#33:\u00a0Guns N&#8217;
